Hi guys,

My husband filed for 1-130 for my daughter that lives in my country. We wanna request to expedite the case but we dont know which category we fall in. Can you guys help? The reason is my grandparents are the ones who takes care of her and they are getting older and cant keep up with her like before. Her dad abandoned him a long time ago and lives in a different city. We wanna get her soon. I wanna take care of her and give the love and care that she needs. She is only 7yrs old. Can you guys tell me which category i should choose to expedite her case? Is it extreme emergent situation? Please help and tell me how to do the first step. Your comments will be very appreciated. Thanks in advance! ;)

Unfortunately this doesn't qualify for expedite. The child is being taken care of so there is no extreme emergent situation. Her father living in another city has nothing to do with an expedite either.

Thank you. But my grandparents said they are not as strong like before and cant take care of her anymore. They are 67 and 69 yrs old.

Unless there is a medical condition involved that would prevent them from taking care, it might be an option. However you will need a lot of evidence for that, and all expedites are reviewed on case by case basis. Currently your case doesn't fall into the expedite category.

That is really sad to know. But thank you all!!

I wish there's a way i can be with her faster. I dont want her to feel abandoned by her own mom.
