Well, im in Chicago now.. (Which is awsome btw!!! havent shopped so much in a couple years, lol) Heading to Cleveland later today.

Wanted to let others know experience at POE.

First I have to say all the panicking I did ended up for not! (since i had a refusal at border previously on a visit)

Crossed at Pembina border (Manitoba, south of Winnipeg, North Dakota)

Arrived approx 1 pm. Had my packet on my lap when officer asked "where you from?" Fiance said "Cleveland"

BG "and you?" looking at me

ME "from Winnipeg, I am here to hand over my packet for K-1 and my entry Visa"

BG "oh great, ok, (smiling) can you give me your packet"

I handed over the "DONT OPEN" packet and BG asked us to go park and go inside

Went inside and another guy already had the packet opened and was on computer.

Waited for a couple min and he said "ok there are a couple things before you can be let in"

ME.. in my brain (OMG IM NOT GOING IN>> #### !! Im missing stuff)

BG "you must get married within 90 days, and you have to file this this and this when your done"

BG " I need 6 dollars for your I-94"

Fiance hands over the cash.

BG stamps my Visa

BG "welcome to America"

DONE!! was all of 15 min, didnt check all the junk I had in the car, we just drove off! lol

Was the best experience I could hope for, and I hope this alleveiate some fears some of you have, like I had.

I overworried and it was all fine.:thumbs:

That is awesome. When I went through there in July 2009, the officer went through my packet with a reference binder and a fine-toothed comb for 90 minutes. Seemed none too happy about it either.

Sounds like they've gotten some training since then

Congratulations!

DON'T PANIC
