Hello!

I have a question for those who were auto-expedited:

Did any of you receive a transfer notice at some point between you NOA1 and NOA2?

We are filing from abroad, received our NOA1 dated on 9/10/2012 and on 9/18/2012 it shows a transfer to another office because of jurisdiction. We were going to CSC originally, don't know yet where we've been transfered to.

I just want to know if we can still hope for the auto-expedite or if this means we were thrown into the regular line!

thanks!!

good question!

same here, mine was routed to CSC then was transferred to NBC.

For all of you USC's who are abroad (specially those in Europe), how did you pay the fees without having a U.S. bank account?

I mailed it to family in the US, they attached the check and then they sent it to the Chicago lockbox. Doing that didn't effect the fact that we got expedited.

If that is not an option, many banks can meet the requirement. I did some research at the time and found it was possible but a whole lot easy to go the US relative/friend route.

For all of you USC's who are abroad (specially those in Europe), how did you pay the fees without having a U.S. bank account?

You can get a local bank who uses an American bank to draw on to give you a US Money Order in the amount requested. TD draws on a bank in the US. I was therefore able to buy a money order from my bank (here in Canada) which in turn gave me an American money order drawn on a Wells Fargo bank located in the US.

So her needing a sponsor then, does not require me to stay in the US? What does it require though, would possibly my parents serve as sponsor(s) then?

Regarding proving domicile, when/how will they ask for the proof of such? My girlfriend lives in Brasil, so it might be a home visit from the policia federal?

I'm still new to the process but really trying to gather as much info as possible. Can you or someone else give me a kind of overview of the process for the CR-1 and the auto-expediting?

I'll be filing the I-130 sometime in January/February of 2013 at the US embassy in Brasil. From there though, I've heard it goes numerous routes. Help please?

hey guys I'm in basically the same situation as jworld34 so here's my question:

As far as filing the I-130 from brazil it would be filed to a lockbox here in the U.S. right? would I need to go to the embassy in brazil to file it? Wouldn't it just need to be mailed?

I am not quite sure I understand what is happening here.....if the foreigner lives legally in the spouse's country (for example myself living in Peru with my Peruvian boyfriend) they can expedite the CR-1 visa and it is done even faster? Is that what is happening here? How long is the average wait time?? I know normally it is 10 months but with this exception?

I really do not know :) From what I have read the only thing that gets you expedited is living outside of US.Maybe I am wrong but there is no way to tell if you are going to or not going to be expedited, other than waiting for NOA2 to arrive.
