We are yet to receive a NOA1 and we even called the USCIS to ask about it and the customer service rep informed us that "their systems" don't allow them to enter a foreign address.

I never received my NOA1. It shouldn't be an issue.

The USCIS will send overseas mail. That's the line the customer service gives when inquiring about foreign addresses, but it's completely false. I did eventually receive my NOA2 in the mail (about two months after approval) in Kuwait. Many of the people in this thread received documents from the USCIS at their foreign address.

I got an email on July 25th that they had received our paperwork and they cashed had the check the same day. We are yet to receive a NOA1 and we even called the USCIS to ask about it and the customer service rep informed us that "their systems" don't allow them to enter a foreign address.

Should we be worried about the lack of a NOA1?

Our actual paper NOA1 took about 10 days to get to France, Sweden should be similar so I don't think there's cause for concern yet, international mail takes a while.

hi everyone,

my husband lives in the US, I am in Malaysia at the moment. he is with the military so do you think we can file through the US Embassy in Malaysia? There is a chance he might be deploying next year so we'd like to get the visa process done before/and if he leaves. Thanks, really appreciate your feedback!

I signed up just to add my stuff to this list (:

1. Country USC resides in: Georgia.

2. USCIS field office or DCF?: USCIS.

3. When did you file I130: Received by USCIS on July 24th 2012.

4. How long has the USC been living abroad: 1 year

5. Do you reside in the country legally: Yes.

6. What is the reason for your residence: to be with my husband

7. Did you list your overseas address on I130? Yes, BUT I wrote in both the cover letter and the address page to use my US address as my mailing address

8. Did you send the package from abroad? Yes.

9. Did you include evidence of your residence abroad in your I130 package? Yes, some postcards/envelopes sent to me at this address

10. Did you mention that you reside abroad in your cover letter? Yes, and I asked for my US address to be used for mail.

11. Has your case been auto expedited? How long between NOA1 and NOA2? Still waiting for NOA2, but the online status has updated: so, 12-14 days?

12. Which Service Centre? California.

I was so worried after reading this thread that listing my US address, even just for 'mailing,' would keep us from being expedited. And now I'm still not sure what happened, because despite my multiple requests, yesterday I got my physical NOA1 in the mail, here at my foreign address! Anyone else have this happen to them?
