Hi! I'm new here, and was really surprised by the auto-expedited petition! I thought I'd have to wait 5-6 months. Anyway, here's our info:

1. Country USC resides in: Ecuador

2. USCIS field office or DCF?: USCIS

3. When did you file I130: July 02, 2012

4. How long has the USC been living abroad: 3 years

5. Do you reside in the country legally: Yes

6. What is the reason for your residence: To be with my hubby. I have a marriage visa.

7. Did you list your overseas address on I130? Yes

8. Did you send the package from abroad? Well, kindof. I sent it to my mom in the States, and she put it into a new envelope and sent it from there.

9. Did you include evidence of your residence abroad in your I130 package? Not much. Since we never had documentation of bills paid, most of our evidence were marriage certificates and the birth certificate of our baby.

10. Did you mention that you reside abroad in your cover letter? Yes

11. Has your case been auto expedited? How long between NOA1 and NOA2? Yes. The NOA1 says that it was recieved on July 2, and online it says that it was approved July 11. Though I haven't received the NOA2 yet in print. It may get lost in Ecuadorian mail... it's not very reliable.

12. Which Service Centre? California

Hey guys!

We now have numerous testimonies and what we can gather is that the only absolute necessity to be routed to the expedited queue is to PROVIDE YOUR FOREIGN ADDRESS ON ALL FORMS of the I-130 package. Do NOT provide your parent's address in the US in one of the forms, give your foreign address ONLY.

Of course, you have to be extra careful in reviewing your package because an RFE could compromise everything, especially if the postal service in the country you reside in is not reliable.

And do NOT use a lawyer: they're not even aware that this special queue exists, and they'll most probably insist on writing a US address on the forms, sending you in for the long wait.

This is an amazing thread! THANK YOU FOR THIS!

I do hope we will be qualified to fill in the survey. :):star:

why not try DCF in the PI, instead? It's available, ya know.

Thanks. We know what DCF is, ya know. And it doesn't apply to us

Can your relatives in the USA purchase a 1 year lease on a USPS postal box?

Hi all,

First post!

I'm currently residing in Thailand and am about to send my I-130 to the Chicago lockbox (tomorrow!, though I will send it first to my parents so that they can add one additional piece of marriage bonna-fideness and a money order before sending it along).

Anyway I have decided I would like to use my current address here in Thailand instead of my parents' place in the US as a result of this thread in the hopes of getting the fast track. However, I'm worried that we will still get the slow track since DCF is still avialable here in Bangkok (though we did not qualify due to the type of Thai visa I currently hold). Has anyone gotten expedited service even if you've filed from an overseas location that still offers DCF?

Also, my wife and I may (or may not) move to a different apartment here in Bangkok at the beginning of November for the last several months before heading to the US. Is it possible/fairly painless to change addresses amid the application (either with USCIS or NVC) or should I consider using the wife's permanent family address as my own on our I-130 to avoid the issue??

Thanks!

Taylor

Someone said in a previous post on this thread that DFC was still available where they lived and they still got auto-expedited after sending their petition to Chicago. The only condition is putting your foreign address everywhere and to mention it on the cover letter.

I think you can change your address online or on the phone once you get a file number.

Good Luck,

Good Luck,

i have a question regarding this auto expedited thing.. i am a USC, used to live in the philippines, was there for 8 years, but went to the US in july to enroll my kids in school, i filed i-130 but it was stated on my application that i just got here few days ago (from my filing date).. i am still planning to go back to the philippines after i enroll my kids here.. . do you think this petition would be expedited. i used our address here in the US, but on my application it says that my husband and i were living in manila together since we got married in 2004 (until july 2012 when i went here in the US)..

what do yall think? *crossing fingers* --praying hard on my knees.. being apart is too difficult.. :(

I don't think it would cause an issue. My wife just moved back to the US, and we updated her address over the phone. I am now writing a letter to USCIS updating my address with them and updating the intended address I will be living at when I move to the US (wife's current new address). But then again, I haven't had results to verify that. I think a lot of people put "To Be Determined" on that part of the application.

Should we be worried about the lack of a NOA1?
