10. Did you mention the fact you reside abroad in the cover letter or write a letter describing your current situation and the evolution of your relationship with your spouse (mentioning your residence abroad)? Yes, but very briefly, in maybe 2 sentences.

11. Has your case been "auto-expedited"? How long between NOA1 and NOA2? I think so? 11 days!

Anyone know if this might have partly to do with the service center? I got unlucky and was transferred to Vermont.

Looks like there were some cases sent to Vermont which were approved quickly in this thread. So maybe it is irrespective of service center.

They try to base their decisions off of facts. So far, we are speculating on the reasons for the auto-expediting. While I want it to go quickly for me (my wife and I live in Canada), there is no way to know for sure if this is the reason for the recent expediting of cases.

If you think there isn't any speculation, read the thread. People are trying to draw conclusions based upon the few observations, and there could be many reasons for the quick approvals. Perhaps the thread was only meant to observe, but people believe that USCs who file abroad will have auto-expedited I-130s. That is all I meant by speculation.

Perhaps this is correct, but I don't know if there is enough evidence to conclude that.

I would be interested to know how many people had their USC spouse file from abroad (including an address outside of USA) and didn't get expedited (went the regular 5 month waiting period). Are there any out there?

Maybe I should start a different thread for those ones if there are any.

Well...I'm at about 8 days now since USCIS sent out the NOA1. The NOA1 date on the form was June 8th though (I just looked at it), so it could be considered 14 days since NOA1. I will continue to wait and see. If I hit a month without NOA2, I might need to conclude I haven't hit the auto-expedite queue, if it exists. Weird though, my survey is similar to others. I wonder if USC filing abroad is immaterial? Or if there is another criterion that would prevent me from entering said queue? I guess I'll wait and see.

Did you read the thread? There are some examples of people who did not get expedite, and usually the reason can be gleaned.

Just so you know... your idea that there might be "some other" reason for expedite is naive to say the least. NOA2s don't come this fast, unless expedite is requested or the person is active military. Starting last year, a bunch of people start getting really fast NOA2s without requesting it, and what do they have in common? The petitioner lives abroad. You can search for some threads prior to this one... one I remember was called "approved too fast!!"

Just an update. Our petition was approved Friday, it was received May 22, approved June 21. So I do believe we were auto expedited. My husband is in the US working (living temp in friend's basement) but maintains his permanent residence here in Sweden. So happy!! I thought we weren't going to get it since most people on here had been approved in less than a couple of weeks.
