Hi All,

Has anyone else been unable to get a Case Status using there reciept number from the USCIS website?

We got our NOA1 on 1-12-2012. Since that time we have been trying to get a case status update, but all we get is (•Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

Does this mean they have lost or misplaced our K-1 petition?

We called in and a service request was processed. This is the email response we got back.

(The status of this service request is:

We received your petition on January 10, 2012. There is a problem with case status availability on our website. This problem will be corrected shortly.

Our review indicates that this case is actually within our current processing time. We are currently processing cases filed in September 2011. If you do not receive a decision or notice of other action within our current processing time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.)

We do not want our petition to get lost or misplaced. Your response and advise will be very much appreciated on this issue..

They said they have it and it is within normal processing time. All you can do it wait. A bit of advice, if you are depending upon the on-line case status you may be sorely disappointed. In our case it was never accurate, and often weeks behind what was really happening. We had our NOA-2 in hand and the website still said initial processing.

Thanks. But it worries us, because we seem to be the only one.

We will not rely on it. However, if this turns out to be a problem learing from other VJer's experences & responses. We want to try and solve it now to prevent it from slowing our process. We are open to everyone's comments and advise.

Not seeing your case status online has nothing to do with slowing the process or anything.

You are not the only person there are TONS of people who cannot view their case status online. Viewing it online is not even reliable and you are worrying and upset over this for no reason at all.

We filed in Oct and our case had the same response, until one day out of the blue I checked it and it said we were approved and the NOA 2 was sent out. I went thru the same worries and even called the USCIS who confirmed it was delivered and the website doesnt always show all the cases. Hang in there you will notice :) good luck on your journey

No worries, same here... I called after 1 week and they said software glitch and they put in request to get me fixed... So i asked if i cannot see in 2 weeks should i call back... and they said call back in a month... so a month later i call back and another person said it does not work, but my case is in the system and is does not slow down processing just because i cannot see it. I asked if there were any outstanding issues with the case and she said no, they take 5-6 months processing. (though the first call she said 5 months you should hear from us in april... which would have been 4 months)... who knows...??? just a waiting game.
