Because there would be no real benefit. Maybe it's time to change careers? Our country and our world is transitioning away from fossil fuels whether you're on board or not. You could become a solar panel installer, windmill technician, or even work in geothermal energy technology.

No real benefit ?????? Are you high? Creating jobs while pumping oil is no real benefit?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You want job creation, support renewable energy. That's where the future is. Think of all those whalers you put out of work when crude oil replaced whale oil. That's how the cookie crumbles. When MP3's came along, people complained that it would take away all those jobs in CD manufacturing, while forgetting that the CD made LP's obsolete. It's the circle of life, Simba.

Hey you want that energy then go for it, but don't go fckng everyone else that's want that oil. It's called "freedom of choice". Don't force people to pay for your bs when you won't even let them pay for their own.

Your arguments on this are something I would expect from some jr high school chick who just read a green peace novel, but I wouldn't expect those bs non arguments from a grown adult such as yourself.

Can anyone here name an energy that isn't government subsidized? I know oil isn't. Let's see it...come on let's see an energy source that isn't government subsidized. Good luck on that one. Make us pay for your bs. Now that's some progressive thinking there. Even the Germans have started to give up on solar energy seeing how it's been a total fail with their pocket books.

We heard the same argument a decade ago.

Plus you can buy 2022 oil futures today - don't have to wait until 2022.

Why anyone would put off doing today for cheaper then waiting for god knows how long is beyond me. Any project started now is going to be a h*ll of a lot cheaper than waiting another ten years when inflation goes up thus driving the cost of the project up. Steven in all his intelligent bliss doesn't figure that one in. ...as par for the course.

Drilling Baby Drill -- until Boeing figures out how to power the 777-300ER and the 787 Dreamliner with solar and wind, instead of Jet-A.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

"Retreat hell! We just got here!"
