Thank you for the info. But its DUBAI, UAE not SAUDI.

Dubai is part of the UAE and is a waiver country, embassy knows this. Can not get a police clearance except in person.

General Documents Information

The United Arab Emirates, formerly called the Trucial States, is a federation of seven states, Abu Dhabi; Dubai; Ash Sharigah (Sharjah); Adjam, Umm Al-Qaiwain, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Fujairah.

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

Any updates from people who commented on this thread if CO really waives the PC requirement from UAE? How about from those people who had their IV interview done, did the CO asked for it? Sorry guys, but my dilemma is the same as my interview date is near and I dont have a PC from Dubai where I worked for more than a year.

Hoping anyone who experienced the same and got through without it can give me advice.

Thanks a whole lot.

You can not get a PC from Dubia unless you are currently in Dubia. PC from UAE is waivered. This is not a CO decision, it comes from DOS.

Thanks Hank! Do you know if aome COs still doesnt know about that waiver and still insists of asking a PC?

There is always that possibility. Just print off the page from the link that Hank supplied to you and bring it along. Not long ago someone ran into the same situation you are asking and she produced the page that it can't be done from outside the country and the CO honored the information and approved her visa. Most times the CO knows which country's that you can get a PC from and not.

I need your help on this, Is it still mandatory to obtain a Police Certificate from UAE for my k-1 visa application? I lived there for 10 years but left the country lawfully 5 years ago.

Did you read the last few entries here? Did you follow the links that were given to find the answer to your question? http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html

The probably did not do that and did not want to do that. They just simply wanted a fast answer for their question without doing research.

I agree.

Here is one that I like. Someone asks a question, You give them the answer with the link and they pickup the phone and call the Embassy. Add insult to injury they come back and tell you were right. Sceaaaaaaam
