if a potential sponsor for my fiance` and i has fairly recently declaired bankruptcy, are they still eligable to be our sponsor (assuming they have a fairly reasonable amount of money in their bank account(s) and are still emplyed at a job that pays enough to qualify them as a sponsor)?

I wouldn't think they would look at whether you or your co-sponsor have recently filed bankruptcy....I think all they look at is whether or not you meet the poverty guidelines.

If the co-sponsor has adequate income to meet or exceed the poverty guidelines, the bankruptcy will not be an issue.

In fact and ironically, they are a better risk, because they cannot file another bankruptcy for many years to come.
