My husband finally received his visa today after waiting for a little more than eight weeks in AP. He received a phone call from Dhaka embassy a day before telling him that the process was over and he should come to the embassy at 2:30PM. She also told him to bring the blue slip with him at the embassy. When he went to the embassy an announcement was made for those with blue slip to wait for the visa. They took the blue sheet before giving him the visa. Finally my prayers have been answered and my son will learn to walk holding both of his parents’ hands inshallah.

My prayers and best wishes will remain for those who are still waiting patiently for the agonizing AP to be over. May the blessings of Allah remain with you always and you will hear the good news soon inshallah. I hope my case will be the beginning of an end of all the Administrative Process for the VJ members here. I’ll be checking for the case status of my VJ friends here. Let me know if you have any questions regarding my case. I’ll try to answer them to the best of my knowledge.

Thank you.

I didn't have any congressman or senator involved. But as per my conversation with my immigration lawyer, I needed to wait at least 5 months before contacting a senator.

I didn't email embassy at all. I planned on waiting for at least two months as instructed on their website.

( http://travel.state.gov/visa/a_zindex/a_zindex_4353.html ) However, I called DOS two weeks prior to reaching my deadline. Here's how the conversation went:

Me: Hi, I am calling to check the status of my husband's visa.

Lady: Is it for immigration or non immigration visa?

Me: Immigration visa.

Lady: What is the case number...name..DOB?

Me:........

Lady: It is under Administrative Process.

Me: Has it been worked on at all..or is it still pending...?

Lady: Yes , that why its still under administrative process.

Me: oh okay, Thank you.

Lady: You can call next Friday to get update on your case.

Me: okay thank you.

I didn't call on the following Friday, but my husband received the phone call on Sunday from the embassy in very next week.

Best wishes for you.

Heartiest congratulations for both of you (F)(F)(F) (F).

I am sure good news like this will like light-of-hope for so many of those who are passing agonizing time. However, you did get out fairly quick and I am sure you are just ecstatic :dance::dance::dance:. And hope you are right, may be you opened up the clog for many that are stuck in this black hole

I know how it feels when someone is stuck under AP without given any time limits. But I can assure you one thing. Time Flies. Once we received the visa, we forgot all the agony pretty quickly. That's how it was for me.

I didn't email embassy but I called DOS once. DOS # (202) 663-1225.

Best wishes for you.

I am begining to think that having a lawyer on ones case will make AP shorter.... at least from what I have seen in Egypt.

Can anyone prove me wrong? Is someone out there in AP for 5 or more months and has a lawyer from the begining of this process?
