My husband and I had the AOS interview March 7th. (I believe we are November filers, as we sent our Package out at the very end of October) The IO didn't ask very personal questions.. he asked for my passport, both our IDs and evidence we brought with us. One of the evidences we brought was the 2012 Tax return, he was commenting that he needed to see the W2 for it as proof, but we didn't have it with us, that was one unsettling thing (except for the W2 :bonk: I had every single Paper with us including a whole copy of our sent in application). Generally he seemed a little unfriendly which lessened my confidence in approval a bit.. Furthermore he asked us about our jobs. He asked about something on my husbands G-325. He also looked at the certified copy of our marriage certificate (and kept it as I realized walking out of the building.. we have two more at home so I didn't mind too much, nor did I want to bother to get back in to get it back). And while looking at our wedding pictures and Wedding shower album he asked about a couple of people which I named to him. He asked about my background generally, that I grew up in Germany but I wasn't born there etc and he commented on my Asian facial features. The whole interview was fairly painless and was over after maybe ten minutes. He went and made some copies gave us back the originals and just said, that we would get the decision in the mail within 45 days.

When we cam home from the interview I checked the status online and under the Decision - it said that they had registered my new permanent residency. Today I found the "Welcome to the United States of America" letter as well as an approval of the I130 in the mail. Just minutes after that I checked the online status again and it is on Card/Document production and says:

On March 12, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you.

We're so happy things went pretty smoothly for us. Now I have to prepare for a job interview for tomorrow and it feels like this could go worse than the interview with the IO. haha I'm just nervous.. it's not as easy to convince someone to hire you than it is to show someone that your marriage is genuine. (L)

Good luck to everyone who is still on their journey!! I will be praying for all of you. :star:

I forgot to mention he took my I-94 while we talked.

Thank you! We did the paperwork without the help of a lawyer, it's really not that hard if you make make sure everything is filled out correctly (I triple checked every single paper and was very confident when we sent out the package) :)
