Timeline

my wife and i filed our paper work july 18th 2011 using a i130 form, we have contacted the INS several times to chase up whats going on with the paper work most of the time they say it will be done when its done. we contacted them again and was given an email address for them to chase it up. the reply we got was

A check of USCIS records indicates that this case is currently under extensive background check. You should receive a notice of action* within six months.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence or Notice of Intent to Deny.

is that another 6 months

in the mean time i have been back with my wife once on a vacation visa would that delay the visa going through.

Not at all, as long you don't overstay...hang in there and just stay positive and keep your mind active!

oh no wouldnt dream of risk staying past it being back in the uk for 3 months now since my last stay over there still waiting to hear it gets us down that we cant be together and it feels there wording intnese investigation sounds like we did somthing to delay it
