Low activity does not mean they cancel the visa.

This call just seems odd.

Once can have a 10 yr B1/2 and never visit - they never cancel the visa for that reason.

That's true but then you can have a B1/2 never used for the 10 yrs and it becomes a bit more difficult to renew said visa. I made my 1st 'out there' comment to the OP because based on the details given the consulate had no 'valid' reason to revoke the B1/2 visa. That is why I continued by asking what is the person who had the visitor's visa not saying to the OP because I knew my advice wasn't strong.

I completely agree with you, I have never seen a consulate come out of blue and cancel the visa.

There has to be some reason why the visa was cancelled, there has to be some reason for Consulate to cancel it.

Especially it seems from the post OP had a family visa with her husband and kids and if only her visa was cancelled its really weird.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your info.

I still don't know why. She called them, and the operator told her they usually cancel for fake doc. That she must call later to speak to an officer.

Will update you once I hear the end if the story:)

I am quite intrigued, wonder why it took so long to catch on.

I would like to add that the B2 can be good for up to 6 months but is only valid for the stay the officer writes on the I-94. My MIL has a 5-year B2 and when she came to visit at Christmas this year the officer asked her how long she was staying. She showed him the return ticket 1 month later so he put that return date on the I-94. She was going to stay a week longer and almost did. Luckily I looked at the I-94 and we decided it was easier for her to leave on that date than to apply for an extension. Maybe your friend thought she had 6 months but less was actually authorized which you be an overstay.
