Expediting DCF possible?

I have a medical condition, that, prior to my coming to Russia, I had a surgery for, and well felt just great for a while. Now my condition is coming back (it's chronic and I have it severly), and given my daily symptoms I am sure I have to go back to the USA as soon as possible to get a surgery again to fix it. I want my fiance/husband when I apply to come with me, since this surgery will likely have a much longer recovery time than the last and my family is unable to take care of me (I mean, help me around the house, showering, getting things done).

I know DCF is the fastest process, but I'm wondering if, maybe at the I-130 stage, it's possible to expedite it somehow? I'm scared of flying back home when this gets worse because a 20 hour trip with my condition is about as close to hell as you can get.

it's possible. you will include a letter requesting the expedite, listing the medical condition, and any doctors' statements, with the I-130 submittal.

I agree with Darnell, include a short letter, explaining why you cannot hire a carer/ family cannot help, and be sure to have statements from third parties, especially your doctor. I would also call the embassy a week or so after you send the package to follow up.

If you are truly doing DCF then there is no "I-130 stage." You file the I-130 with the embassy, and they'd approve it probably the same day, then you wait for interview.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

If you are in Moscow, just go in and talk to them. They are really nice :) The only thing that could possibly be sped up, though, is the interview date. They may or may not be able to get you one sooner, but when we wanted to schedule ours, we could have gotten in the same week. We needed a later date so the visa wouldn't expire before our expected exit date.

I never had any luck calling them... they did personally answer an email within about a week or two (first you just get an automatic response). I think most effective would be just to go see them... just show your American passport and go in the Russian side and say you need to go to the Department of Homeland Security (that is where the USCIS office is).

Sorry about your condition! Hopefully you can get around Moscow, even though that isn't an easy feat even when healthy...

From the moscow embassy website:

Contact information, Location, and hours of operation:

The Moscow USCIS Field Office is located in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy at Novinskiy Bulvar 19/23. Our reception window is open to the public on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The office is closed on weekends and American and Russian holidays.

Same with us. We got approved by USCIS same day, and the next day the Consular Section approved us. The mailing process took the longest time!

But this assumes you have all your documents ready: physical, police report, financials, etc.

Our timeline:

01/11/12 - Submitted I-130s to Moscow USCIS in person

01/12/12 - Had interview with Moscow USCIS officer to establish bonafide marriage

01/12/12 - I-130s approved and passed to US Consulate

01/13/12 - IV Unit in Moscow received approved petition

01/23/12 - We received confirmation that I-130s were approved by USCIS

01/24/12 - We received package notification from post office

01/26/12 - Picked up "package" - notifications from IV Unit with case numbers

01/26/12 - Set interview date online

02/01/12 - Passed medical exams

02/02/12 - Received police record

02/09/12 - Interview... APPROVED!

02/13/12 - Visa delivered

02/23/12 - POE Chicago
