Santorum appeared briefly before a lighter-than-expected crowd of less than 100 at a hangar at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport. Organizers said previously that they had hoped to see at least 200.

"This is my first trip to Cape Girardeau," Santorum told the crowd. "Jo Ann's been bragging on you a long time. It's good to be in the hometown of Rush Limbaugh, which some people see as a trip to Mecca."

On health care, Santorum touted his experience with legislation on health savings accounts.

Wow! Santorum missed his real calling. He's got a real future in standup comedy on the horizon.

Santorum would be the perfect repub to go up against Obama. He believes in charity as the solution for the poor needing health care, etc. Yet despite his $900,000 dollar plus income, he donated less than 2% to charity. He stated he could not afford it as he had to take care of his daughter with trisomy 18. He has great government paid for health insurance for himself and his family! And he still claims he cannot give even 2% of his almost one million dollar income to charity for those less fortunate! He does not believe in government being so intrusive into the lives of citizens as to provide a means to get health insurance, but he is all for the government legislating what you can do in the privacy of your own home. He is opposed to contraception and believes that the states should be allowed to ban it! Romney may be a flip-flopping 1%er, an 'empty shirt' but Santorum is what I think was described by that liberal thinker of 2000 years ago. "Whited sepulchres, full of dead men's bones" (Jesus, referring to the religious wind-bags of his time, the pharisees!)

Can you be more specific what you are basing that on?

Everyone knows he is against Artificial Birth control in his private life, I have not heard him suggest it should be "banned" so it would be interesting to see what you base that on.

Especially in light of the fact that he even went along with tax money being used for B C at one point.

Very easy to make that mistake: in one case you move in a circle while throwing stones and in the other case you circle a fat man who gets stoned. I can see how one could mistake the two.
