New! help please! What to file?

Hi guys. I'm new to anything to do with immigration sadly ( I should have educated myself a lot sooner) . I've been reading in this forum a lot recently to gain more insight, but I'm still a bit confused.

My current fiancé and I are going to be getting married this week.

The first thing I should do is file for an Adjustment of Status for him?

Or I-130 Petition for an Alien Relative? Or both?

Also, do I need to file the I-864 with that as well?

How soon after we're married should I file for these?

Can I file right after we are married? Or will that look bad?

-Back information, I am a U.S citizen and he is a Canada citizen he came over here as a tourist and we were not intending to get married, but now after being together we want to get married. Also, he overstayed I was wondering will that cause an issue when I file? -

Any help is appreciated~

I-130, I-485, I-864, 2 x G-325a, and I-765, accompanied by a medical from an approved civil surgeon and a check for $1,490.

Okay, thank you. So you're saying I definitely need to have the I-693 Medical filed with everything?

Also does the biometrics have to be included in this as well? and I just looked at the G-325A file. I read somewhere that there needs to be three of those? o.O

Oh I don't know if this matters but my husband is taking my last name do I put his new married last name or his name that is on his passport?

On the G-325A is that the person I am petitioning information that needs to be listed or my own?

Yes, medical must be done first.

You don't send biometrics. You send the fee, and USCIS will send you an appointment letter for biometrics.

Put the last name that will be used (married) everywhere except where it says former/maiden name.

You sound like you really need to read the guides....I would suggest doing that before you start jumping the gun and jumbling a bunch of forms together.

Also read the instructions for each form - they are very clear and will tell you exactly what you need to include.
