why are there I 130 applications getting approved so quickly?

hi Vjers, i was just wandering around VJ timelines, and i'm surprised to see some of u getting approved so quickly? i noticed there r some ppl got approved in 10 days only!! while some others have to wait for so long? just like me :wacko: *sigh* are there reasons why? could you tell me?

I'm from Indonesia and i've been waiting for my I 130 NOA2 for 5 months 1 week and 2 days, no words from USCIS yet..and i'm getting so impatient day by day :crying::(

Our Visa Journey:

- 2003, met thru a music forum, NOT a dating site ;)
- Dec 9, 2010, met in person and engaged
- June 7, 2011, married
- Sept 28, 2011 1st Packet sent
- Sept 29, 2011, received NOA 1
- April 4, 2012, received NOA 2, move to NVC
- May 15, 2012, Case Number assigned!
- May 16, 2012, I 864 Bill paid
- May 19, 2012, Emailed DS 3032 to NVC
- May 24, 2012, Returned Completed DS 3032
- May 24, 2012, Received IV Bill
- May 24, 2012, Paid IV Bill
- May 31, 2012, AOS package SENT
- June 14, 2012, Package IV SENT
- June 26, 2012, CASE COMPLETED! 1 month, 1 week and 4 days since NVC received
- August 2, 2012, Interview, PASSED smile.png

- October 18, 2014: arrived in the US :)

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

5. Some countries are much quicker to get approval than others (i.e. countries with high-risk for fraud or security risks are slower)

I disagree, I am from Canada and I've been waiting nearly 6 months for our NOA2.

08/13/2010 - Matt found my profile on okcupid

08/16/2010 - I introduced him to skype

12/28/2010 - We met in 3D for the first time

05/27/2011 - We got Married!

09/20/2011 - I-130 sent

09/26/2011 - text received from uscis

09/29/2011 - NOA1 hardcopy received

03/16/2012 - NOA2 from uscis website, no text or email ever recieved

04/17/2012 - received NVC case # IIN & BID in the mail

04/18/2012 - optin email sent, AOS invoiced

04/19/2012 - optin accepted, choice of agent completed online

04/23/2012 - AOS paid, waiting for receipt

04/26/2012 - AOS sent

I have yet to see anyone getting approved in 10 days out of luck...

All the really fast approvals you've seen are due to the case being expedited: either following a request by the petitioner, or "auto-expedited" cases where the USC resides abroad with their spouse.

VSC is faster but I've only seen one member approved there in less than a month without an expedite of some kind.

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

 

Passport

06/10/24: application submitted at post office for passport book and card, paid for expedited processing and shipping

06/24/24: received email notification that passport was approved, then shipped with tracking number

I don't believe so.

Those cases getting approved more quickly are where the USC is currently residing overseas (with their spouse).

29 Apr 2011 - Case entered into the system/Case number assigned; Medical Exam in Sydney

30 Apr 2011 - Police Check Application sent

2 May 2011 - Called NVC and got Invoice ID number

3 May 2011 - Sent DS-3032 email

4 May 2011 - Received email reply from NVC for DS-3032; Received Medical Exam results

5 May 2011 - AOS invoiced and paid

7 May 2011 - AOS package sent; IV invoiced and paid

9 May 2011 - AOS package delivered to NVC according to tracking

20 May 2011 - RFE for missing IV package....still waiting on Police Certificate!

24 May 2011 - Received Police Certificate after 25 days (so much for 7-10!); IV package sent

27 May 2011 - IV package delivered according to tracking

8 Jun 2011 - RFE for original marriage certificate; requested supervisor review since we KNOW it was in the package!

During the time you were living in India, you could have filed your case with Direct Consular Filing (DCF) - which is allowed if you could show that you were currently living in India for at least 6 months. The whole process to get your spouse's visa would have taken about 3 months as opposed to the (on average) 10 months or so that the rest of us are going through by filing it in the US.

If you are back in the states now, I'm not sure there is much else you can do other than the standard route, though others can correct me if I am mistaken.

I was approved in 22 days at csc and my husband is in ghana but my case was expedited for mrntal and financial hardship I was suprise that my expedite request was approved through uscis and nvc

It is only available for spouses currently staying with their spouse and have been with them for 6 months before petition was sent and they use the foreign address instead of american address so government knows they live overseas together

Sometimes there are different circumstances surrounding the case. For example, I should have been notified of approval by now for my sons but I know that there is a question as to whether or not I am following the right process since one of my sons was adopted w/o following the 2 year legal custody rule. On the other hand, at the time i received my RFE for my wife, I was told by USCIS that it should have been an approved letter instead because all my paperwork was good.
