Hey Guys,

Thank you so much all for your response. This is really very helpful.

Yes, I am a Citizen. On I-797 Notice of Action it says:

RECEIPT DATE: June 27, 2011 PRIORITY DATE: June 27, 2012. NOTICE TYPE: Approval Notice. Section: Husband or wife of US Citizen, 201 (b) INA.

Yes, it says 2012...is this good or bad thing?

And what is 201 (b) INA?

Zubi: you have waited for a long time...we wish you best of luck and hope your process gets completed very soon.

Thank you again.

It is really weird that they put priority date of 2012. Your priority date is supposed to be the same as your filing date.

"For family sponsored immigration, the priority date is the date that the petition is properly filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextchannel=aa290a5659083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextoid=aa290a5659083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD"

They issue visa based on the priority date (the date you filed your application). I hope that you wouldn't have to wait until June 2012 for visa issuance. They are processing visa's for applications filed around the same time as yours this month. I hope that 2012 date doesn't cause any delays for you.

INA section 201(b) refers to aliens not subject to direct numerical limitations. That group includes children, spouses, and parents of a citizen of the United States.

As you are a U.S. citizen, your spouse is included in those aliens descirbed in Section 201(b) of the Act.
