Indian Visitor Visa: Experiences

Hello Everyone,

My husband and I are applying for my mother-in-law's visitor visa this summer. We both are US Citizens. She is a government school teacher so the best option for her to visit us is in summer when schools are out. She still has 5+ years left for her retirement so her over staying here is not an option. We saw the application is online and the rest of the process is seems very easy. So our only questions are

1. What do the consulate officer asks during the interview?

2. What things the consulate officer sees more importantly when issuing the visa?

Please share your experiences of your parents/relatives when gone for visitor visas...What they thought that if they kept in mind before would have changed the results or anything they want to suggest to new applicants...

Its same things CO look at what are the chances of applicant returning back and not mis-using their visa.

you need to show all her ties to her home country, her fianancial, her invetments and all the reasons why she would return back upon completetion of her trip.

Thank you for the input..

My mother-in-law has strong ties to her home country. She is a government school teacher for past 20+ years and she till has 5+years left till she gets retirement. She has very good financial, she has so many properties that she has invested in... Plus, being a school teacher she has to report when new school year starts otherwise she will be loosing her job which nobody of us wants.. so will not mis-use her visa..

My husband and I really want to know the real experiences of VJ Users parents/relatives that have gone through this process and how it is really inside the Consulate office??
