No, I think I have made it quite clear that I think Foley is an idiot and shouldn't be in congress. It's the hypocracy and the dirty tricks a month before the election that burns me. The dems can't win on issues and ideas so they have to smear and spin to do it.

I think you have every right to be outraged that smear tactics are used to win elections. But let's not forget these tactics are not new nor belong only to the democratic party.

Republicans supporting Bush had their own smear and spin tactics against John McCain in the republican South Carolina primary 2000. some of the accusations made against McCain was he was gay, married to a drug addict, that his adopted daughter was Black etc..

There is/was suspicion that Rove was involved. Bush never publically denounced these tactics. Had McCain won south Carolina, that very well could have been the end of the campaign.

I remember somethings about some recorded messages sent out to voters. never heard about the black daughter,the gay thing! and wife being a drug addict I think I remember her going to a rehab!

I think the Bush campaign treatment of McCain in the South Caroline primary was the most despicable campaign smear tactic ever -- so you know, let's cut the partisan morale high ground -- and that is what they did to someone in their own party.

If on November 7 Nancy Pelosi is made Speaker of the House, collective heads (Hannity/O'Reilly/Limbaugh) are going to explode -- and it will be fun to watch.
