hi everyone, right now i am mad. i just received two debt cards from my bank from the savings account which me and my wife had open. both debt cards has my full name but my wife's debt card has only her marry last name and not her maiden name on card. also, it is two different numbers on the debt cards and not the same numbers. the bank told me that they couldn't fit her maiden name on the debt card which i think its a lie. does it really make a difference to uscis if my wife's maiden name is not on the debt card. please let me know. thank you everyone.

Banks usually shorten either middle names or like in your case when someone has 2 last names specially if they are long.

All my credit/debit cards only have my middle name Initial even though I have given my full name when I signed up, its just easier I guess. Anyways... I don't see why USCIS would care about your wife's maiden name in the card. They actually want to see her using her MARRIED name, which is the one in the card, isn't it? So that should not be a problem at all. :)

And that you commingle finances and/or have joint accounts.

My wife and I have debit cards with our joint account, however the cards have different numbers like you described. But, BOTH cards show up on our bank statements. :). As far as the USCIS, your bank statement probably shows joint usage of the account by the two different debit cards. In my case that was a good thing, it detailed the use by both spouses more visibly. :)

No difference and the debit card numbers are always different. That is NOT the account number associated with that card.

For evidence you will present copis of bank statements NOT debit cards. If you have joint credit card accounts you will present copies of statements, not credit cards.
