the correct zip code is:

60603-5573 NOT the one they tell you to send it to wich is: 60603-5517

if you think I am wrong... all you have to do is call up the USPS and they will tell you the the zip code ending with 5517 is not for the 3rd floor but for a Suite. 5573 is for the 3rd floor.

what gives?

I realize that most people that work for the US gov are idiots or don't care.... but come on now!

This is interesting. I'm not sure what the issue is about that. USPS still delivered my document and it was signed by a USCIC rep. So I would assume they file it in the right department once it is received. I just try to follow directions. lol

That really doesn't mean much or cause a problem, the 4 digit number after the first 5 digit zip code is just a regional sort code number that USPS uses to efficiently route mail to a closer location. That information will mismatch a lot of the time due to various changes (district offices closing, incorrect data in the USPS database, etc). I deal with this on a daily basis in e-Commerce and I'll will tell you that the +4 mismatch means absolutely nothing as long as the first 5 digits are correct (and that a large portion of the time, the USPS database is usually out of sync).

I second that.

I just found out what is going on... example for the non-express mail address:

Robert: well you should contact the USCIS and tell them about this problem

Amanda: One moment while I look this up on Google Maps.

Amanda: The only thing I'm finding on Google Maps is that address is for Chicago Lock Box, and that address is 3400 West 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60680-4107, that's the location of the place the PO Box is at, but whereever the box is located in the store, the last 4 digits change for the PO Box to 60680-4143, so it looks good.

Amanda: I apologize for any inconvenience.

So in other words.... the USCIS does not give out the specific zip code extension for the Suite that is on the 3rd Floor(express mail)... and as you see in this message from the USPS.... the USCIS also does not give out the specific zip code for regular mail.

not just different floors... but different suites on the same floor!

remember.... I only brought up this issue because when I tried to ship it using the USPS click and ship.... it would automaticly change the zip code extension with no other options! So I wanted to find out if the zip code that the post office changed it to would go the the correct PO Box or Suite.

I decided to just ship the package Priority Mail. it only cost me $4.75 to ship. Express Mail was $18 and will only get there one day sooner.

and by the way.... I sent it today! it took me a few months to put together. I should start a timeline now I guess.

I noticed the same issue. The address that USCIS gave us is :

USCIS
FBAS
131 South Dearborn-3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517

But the UPS label says:

FBAS

USCIS
131 S DEARBORN ST
FL 3
CHICAGO IL 60603-5573
08/25/2015 - Filed I-751 via USPS

09/06/2015 - NOA

09/30/2015 - Done biometrics
