Hi Everyone.

My wife is undergoing AOS.

We filed on Feb 9th, 2012.

Finally the case went from "Acceptance" to "Initial Review"

Today we got an SMS/Email stating the following:

"On March 8, 2012, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made."

Does this translate to transfer to CSC or is it open to interpretation (until we actually get the notice stating where it was transferred).

Thanks,

Chigs

Yes, probably CSC. You'll know exactly which office when you get the notification in the mail.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Notice is not here yet.

I called USCIS to see if they can tell me where it was sent. They simply read what was written in my online case status. Nothing as to "where" it was sent.

Is it worth it calling them again to find out exactly where the case got transferred to (i.e. by speaking to someone to a tier 2 representative).

Thanks,

Chigs

Nobody's stopping you from trying : ) However, they rarely hand out "sensitive" information regarding your case unless you already know most of it anyways.

So it'll help you more to receive the letter, call USCIS and you tell them the AOS was sent to xx office and they'll confirm it.

Aaaarghhhh...

Got another update notification just two minutes ago....

So that's two in a span of 1 week...

"The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

That's 9:15 PM EDT. Still no news of where it got transferred... Apparently, the location where it was transferred to, just received it and decided to update the status saying that "we received your transferred file"

On another note, my wife's biometrics appointment went fairly smoothly. She was careful enough to take our marriage certificate. Had she not, we would have had to come back home and go back to the USCIS office again. They simply weren't willing to accept ID proof in the form of her Maiden Name. We applied for her on her married name, yet no ID of her's is in her Married Name. Everything is in Maiden Name... Thank god for the certificate.

That's confirmation that it arrived at California for processing. You wouldn't have received that if it was sent for interview, you just would have got an interview letter.

Just means it was transferred to another office for processing. The CSC i think. No worries. With what I know, most of this type cases don't get an interview. They just send the green card after it says 'green card production' online. But not all though. May still get an interview. Best wishes.
