This below response was form the US embassy in Islamabad when we reached out to them for some updates.

"Thank you for your email regarding visa cases of Ms. xxxx and her children.

As per our record, Mr. yyyy could not qualify to support being a joint sponsor. However, Ms. xxxx was informed through a phone call on Feb 24, 2012, that Mr. zzzzz can submit an affidavit of support (I-864) and Mrs.zzzzz can submit an affidavit of support (I-864A) including 2011 IRS certified tax returns to our office.

We hope this information is helpful, please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Consular Section, US Embassy, Islamabad."

So does this mean that we are under Administrative processing? or US embassy is just waiting on the requested papers and once they receive the above documentations they will issue us a visa? Any thoughts??

Thx

It looks like you need a co-sponsor (whoever Mr. and Mrs. Z is). Once they sumbit their IRS forms they will continue your process. It doesn't necessarily mean that they will issue you a visa, it just means that they require this other documentary evidence to continue working on your case. I would submit your forms as soon as possible.

Thx for the quick reply. Yes they did submit it and according to FedEx in USA that the embassy did receive the papers last Friday. I am just little worried of this AP dark hole and hoping that we wont go through that.

No, i does not mean you are in AP. It means Mr. Y does not meet the requirements to be the Joint Sponsor, and the US Embassy wants the I-864 from another JS to continue the application.

Whether AP will hold up your visa application is unrelated to the I-864 requirements. You could still be put into AP.
