I think Congressman or senator is a good choice, their intervention helps to settle issues faster.

Did you call both? Show up in the senators office and talk. Thisbisbpart of their electoral responsibilities. Keep that in your head. Bother know they may lose your vote next time as such keep in mind thatthu have their interest in your case in some way.

Please reach out to the senators. Trust me, they are more accessible than the congressman. Senators got more money or interns (basically manpower) to do these. Keep in mind, this is election year ;-).

Hey hellraiser- have you worked w/either of these senator offices before? I am also from NYC...and thinking of writing one of these offices... I am with you Rozi...I am almost at 5 months in AP and thinking of getting a senator involved too... I am wondering if I should try contacting the Embassy first before getting a senator involved...any opinions? So far I have only waited patiently and called DOS a few times...I feel like it's time to take action....

God delays but doesn't forget.

Hello Adnan&Liane: Sorry for the late reply. I somewhat got involved with one of them "Kirsten Gillibrand". However, my issue was resolved before I got them fully engaged.

What happened was it was taking long time for my NOA2 Approval (more than the usual). I was trying to break inside the first level of support within USCIS and open a ticket. So I reached to Senator Kirsten via phone, and email (on the website) and the in 2 days someone from her office got back to me and asked me to send a disclosure form with more information that they would need to make an inquiry. The day I fax’ed them (Senators office) the disclosure form, I got NOA2 approval. Afterwards the Senators office reached at me via phone, and email stating they will officially start an inquiry and at this point I informed them about the status.

I know that everybody can have a different expression with different people/office, but I was lucky to get a prompt, and supportive response from the Senator.

My suggestion is this; if you are stuck somewhere and you have a valid reason to explore any possible solution; give it a shot. It won’t hurt, what hurts lot more is when you are stuck with this process for an indefinite period of time with no possible way of knowing what is going on, when are things move on to the next step and if there is an issue or not. Good luck

Thanks everyone for the advice...sorry to take over your thread Rozi.... I'm going to call DOS this week to check our status....if there is no news I will fill out the form and email them... did you make an appointment to see them in person Rozi? Are you going this week? Did you have to schedule a time or can you go whenever? If I don't have to go in person I won't because my schedule is crazy busy and I work everyday...but if it's better to go in person I guess I will have to take an hour or so off of work and go during the day...I work near times square so it's not too far to get to...
