Hello all.

I am putting together the petition package and have several questions.

First brief info about my case.

I met my husband in the US when he was still an international student completing his graduate studies. We dated and then got engaged. After being engaged for 2.5 years, we got married in the City Hall and only my parents and some friends were present at the ceremony since his parents and relatives along with my relatives do not live in the US. We took plenty of pictures after the ceremony (wearing a wedding dress, etc.). Since there weren't many people attending the ceremony, we just went to a restaurant to celebrate the event.

Since after completing his studies he had to return to his home country, we planned to have a big wedding party the same year in the summer in his home country.

So after we got married in January 2010, my husband left the US in Feb 2010 for his home country. In July of 2010, my parents, my sister and I visited my husband and finally met all of his family there. And we had a wonderful wedding party that was attended by over 100 of our relatives (I do have many close relatives in his home country)and friends. In addition, we also had a church ceremony (of course we were already husband and wife and the ceremony was just a formality). Again we have a lot of pictures of the ceremony and the reception. To note, I was wearing a wedding dress at the event.

Since the wedding I have visited my husband 2 more times and during my 3 trips, I have been with my husband for over 150 days.

Here I am, putting together the I-130 package and my questions are:

1) Do I write a letter explaining our situation and talk about the town hall wedding that wasn't attended by his parents and relatives and explain why?

2) Do I also talk about our big wedding ceremony (church) and the reception in his home country?

3) Do I send in pictures from the Town Hall event and the Events that took place in his home country?

I am concerned about having a small town hall wedding in the US that wasn't attended by my parents and relatives. But as I said, the plan was to have a big party and give myself and my family the opportunity to meet his family.

Thank you very much

In general, no to 1 and 2- this can be explained at interview, yes to 3 (only include one page of photos, ie 4-6 photos printed on paper).

However, it depends on which country you two are from.

Do you think sending regular photos (not printed together on a piece of paper) will be OK? I was actually thinking of sending about 10 photos total that will also include a photo of the Town Hall wedding ceremony (in the US), the Church ceremony (in his home country) and the reception (in his home country).

Thank you

They can easily slip out and get lost. It would be better to print 10-12 photos on 2 pieces of paper, with captions explaining what they show.

Like Penguin said, you can explain the whole situation at the interview.

As far as the photos, I put regular photos in a photo album sheet and sent with my petition.

It all depends on what country your husband is from. If you fill that out on your profile your post will filter will generate more answers to your specific country.
