Hey All,

I have an interview for IR1/CR1 in mid of this month. Just wanna to know if somebody recently approved from MTL for the same category. If you can give me any advise for an interview and advise on what to bring with me on that day. will be greatly appreciable.

Thanks,

K

If you do a search you wil find a lot of info for a cr-1/-1 interview for Mtl

No big bags, electroincs of any sort (includeds key tags) Buy a plastic accordian style binder to put ur stuff in. Have ur interview letter out as security will want to see it. You go through airport style security including xray machine. Elevator opens from the REAR. The first window is first come first serve!! That window gives you your ticket #. Even if your the first one out of the elevator and then dont hang out by the window, others wil cut in front of you, lol I brought some proof of marriage, pics, flight stuff, but they never looked at it. I had duplicates of all my "originals" in case they got misplaced (they didnt) The interview was very quick and only asked basic questions such as how/when we met, What my spouse does for a living, what I plan to do. I was out of there by 1015. One can stay and wait for the visa to be issued next day, or give them a prepaid express post envelope and they wil mail it to you. best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
