Yellow letter- 2/07/2012..in yellow letter its mentioned before forwarding your case we did a complete review...and you are advised to bring 2 documents at the interview but have not received interview letter...or anything..

Case status says...'initial review'

talked to customer service..and higher officer...officer said...its pending background check and its pretty intense..

what does that mean?

Do you because its not been 3 years yet since I got a green card...and that is causing this delay?

also, how many days they give you after sending interview letter and actual interview?

Is there any thing we can do at our end....as we have to travel...and because of this interview...we can't

We are on the same boat! I also received a yellow checklist stating what to bring to the appointment: which is basically my expired and valid passports and a state issued ID. I do not have any cases not even traffic tickets on behalf of the background check and still have not received my appointment letter. :(

I am just praying for it to come, but I am not being patient either. I have called USCIS so many times but they only tell me information that is posted on the case status updates. :(

But they also said the case is in "Background" check?

I went through the background check in the green card process. It was long and frustrating...Not sure if background check in citizenship application maybe different?

I don't know what state you are in but here in NY things seem to take a little longer. I got that yellow letter as well back in October and was asked to bring my driver's license at the interview. The actual interview letter did not arrive until January. My interview was the end of Feb and I am now awaiting my oath ceremony date.

We are in WA state...Seattle center...

You definitely need to check the other cases in your state before you get worried. I applied two months before you, received my yellow letter in November, and still havent received an interview letter. However, like the poster above you stated, NY typically moves slower than other states, so I know I just have to be patient.
