Strange Interview for I-751

Hey VJ,

I had my I-751 Interview yestreday at the Albany NY office and here is my story. We sent our I-751 application to remove conditions on my GC on 03/2011, everything was fine until we received the Request for Evidence's letter! At that time we know that our case will be on Tortoise Speed.

We sent all the evidences and more, 2 months later we got my interview letter..

So we went to our interview of course after I prepared myself(Big thanks to VJ). We are now in the waiting room, I noticed other couples in the room and I said I think today is the interview day here in Albany NY office. 30 mins later a nice lady called my name and asked us to follow her.. We got into a small office with her, the door now is closed:

The officer started with asking us about our marriage, then about my arrest that had happen in 2009.! She did not ask me to show her anything (Pics, more evidences,...)

We answered all the questions. And this is what happened in the end:

Officer: All I need now is only an official letter from the court saying that your arrest in 2009 has been sealed.

Applicant: Do you need anything else..?

Officer: NO - because I have everything here!! Remember you sent a big box in the second time we requested for more evidence! All I need is just the letter from the court.

Applicant: I will make sure I send it to you ..When I will hear from you again?

Officer: 2 weeks after I receive the letter. (I always say 2 weeks)

While we are ready to leave the office I heard her saying beautiful couple, beautiful couple!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys must be hungry go eat lunch... Later in the same day I had to stop at the court to get the letter and to ask if my arrest has been sealed. The lady from the court told me that I am clear and the case has been sealed.

Now, my question to VJ is: Is everything ok with my case?

as long as you get the letter from the court saying that your arrest is sealed and for you to send it in, then you should be ok. that is what the interviewer had told you, for you to get a copy of the letter from the court. however, once uscis has received the letter from the court which you will send it in, they still will have to make a decision on your case. it depends on what you was arrested for. good luck.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

YES she was right and I am happy now. NEXT will be the N-400, I already got my notice of action (I-797C)
