Re-entering US with AP in Married name Passport still in Maiden name

Hi All,

Quick question, I received my advance parole and EAD card in my married name but i have not changed my name back home in Aus yet to get my new passport. I want to book my ticket back to the US but can't because I would need my new passport number. Is it possible if I travel with my marriage certificate and other forms of ID in my married name to enter the country using my Maiden name passport..

Yes, travel with a copy of your marriage cert. Also, book the ticket in the name in your passport.

Don't forget you can apply for a FREE passport name change if you do so within a year of marriage.

I personally travelled home on my maiden name passport, ticket in married name, and returned with my married name passport... no issue. The requirement is the ticket must be in the name of "government issued photo ID", which includes the GC. If you're changing your passport while in Aus, this is a good idea. You can change your passport once you're in the US as well. Up to you which way you go.
