Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here and I found this site very helpful.

My fiance is a working student, would that be a problem in the process of petition?

I am from Philippines and I have read some forums on the internet

that the consul in PI dont accept co-sponsorship. Is that true?

However, I don't know if it's applicable to K1 visa..

Please help me be enlightened with this topic..

Thanks so much!

The USEM accepts joint sponsors on a case by case basis.

Realistically, you might want to add another month or two for that NOA2.

They permit joint-sponsors for spousal petitions. The K1 petition, as stated, is a case-by-case basis. The fact that he's a student means they will "most likely" accept it as they understand that schooling means he can't earn as much NOW but can later once he's finished.

As a side note: I don't know how much your fiance earns and I'm not asking, but I just wanted to make sure you're aware that it costs $1070 at this time to file for AOS (greencard). This means until he files for this paperwork (and you receive either the GC or AP) you cannot work and you cannot leave the country or they won't let you return without another visa. I only mention this because some people don't look ahead and are shocked and it takes them a while to save the money. While there is no deadline to file, if he's not working very much it will be better if you're able to work asap, if that's what you want to do.
