What ISO and shutter speed? You did a great job without any blur.

For the shuttle pics since I wasn't in a controlled setting coupled with being a once in a lifetime opportunity, I let the computer do it's thing. I used automatic point and shoot mode so it was all over the place. I would have used ISO between 200 to 400 mostly.

Sounds like the Spooky has looked through a few eye lenses too yes.gif

I'm just curious what the processor picked for ISO and shutter speed. Does it have that info in the file? I've been a photography fan since I was very young. I think I got interested when I 12 or 13. I still shoot some 35mm too. I have an old Nikon F that my uncle gave me that has never had a roll of film in it. It is somewhere around 40 years old. I have to do some research on batteries for it since it took the old mercury batteries and you can't get them anymore. Someday I'll have to try it out.

The Gowon (this drives "my people crazy" when I say this so I must use it often) is ready to take pictures of the space shuttle as it flies over Nasa-JPL Pasadena later this morning.

Any other space Geeks on VJ? Or am I the only one? Surely can't be.

What is that a $5g plus?

On a film camera, it would have been literally impossible to shoot at ISO 200, f5.6 and get a shutter speed that fast with a proper exposure. Those are great shots. It would be nice to get a nice enlargement or two and frame them. Those are definitely shots to be proud of. Now if I could post a few of my wife.............

I have a D3000 and is the lower end of the Nikon DSLR range, still takes superb pictures (like Lance Armstrong said "it's not the bicycle" lol).

You can pick up this package at Costco for $650 http://www.costco.com/Nikon-D3100-DSLR-Camera-2-Lens-Bundle.product.11622027.html

The lens that I shot the shuttle with is about $600 just by itself.

So what I recommend to folks is to get the Costco kit, then buy used lenses on eBay and then in a few years when you re in your stride, then sell the Costco kit and upgrade to a better body.

The next two pictures were taken with the standard $650 Costco Nikon kit, as an example.

I do a lot of car shows. My divorce allowed Gowon to reset and take stock of what's really important to him yes.gif

I love photography so that's my passion. Until my Fiancee gets here and then it's back to freaking honey doo lists no0pb.gif

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
