Hi, dear all,

My mom has sent her passport to US Consulate in Guangzhou for Visa, but until now she still didn't get her passport back. Her medical exam will be expired within week, I am afraid of that when she got her visa, her medical exam is already expired. If this happens, what should my mom do next? If you can give me more detail information, I am very appreciate, thanks!

They will not issue the visa if the exam is expired. She will need a new exam.

Time passes, alas

Your Mom was EP case? if so, reprint the interview letter, the medicos will need that .

If she wasn't an EP case -

SHE HAS SOME DOCUMENT with her GUZ Casefile number on it, have her bring that into the medical exam,

then the medicos will do another medical exam for her.

If you'd like to study the medical forms, please review

GUZ IV forms http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

Regardless, she can show up for medical exam ming tian, get it done.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks for your suggestion, Darnell. It's really a hard way for this IV processing.

Look, if she shows up at the IV unit soon, they MAY (or may not)

ask for a new medical exam, as the expiration date is fast approaching .

I say get it done already - then there's less hassle to worry about.

You could also call into DOS hotline, inquire for casefile status, to be certain about WHEN the visa packet will be mailed back to her, or IF there is any further holdup.

DOS and GUZ IV share the same computer system, so DOS will have some status on yer mom's casefile, albeit 1 day old because of the time difference.

Alternatively, you can email the GUZ IV unit, ask your questions directly.

FWIW, my responses here are not suggestions - they are OPTIONS for you, based on the current situation of your mother. Pick something, quickly. Do Something, quickly.
