For all the chest thumping about Rush's ratings (and it's a well known secret in the media industry how inaccurate radio ratings can be) the estimates for Rush's audience are about the same as NPR's using the same methodology. So I'm not sure what the size of his audience proves.

Oh, and NPR's sponsors trade much higher on the stock exchange than Carbonite or most other Rush former or current sponsors. Why is that, I wonder?

OK. Those ratings are use for all programs so that argument doesn't work. Those same ratings are what brings Rush that untold wealth he receives. (It is a lot) NPR on the other hand is a very heavily subsidized by the tax payer that spews Liberal ####### constantly. If the show is so good then get off of tax payer funded stations and go and compete against Rush on the open market. Why am I funding NPR anyway?

Interesting programming and while Rush's gimmick is to be as bombastic and outspoken as possible, I wonder if he could bring a more right-wing view to NPR. He's not guys like Brooks or Krauthammer (both ex-Canucks, BTW) or even Buchanan. Wouldn't be as entertaining, though.

Rush would chew them up and spit out the bones. 'all things considered' is a show that comes on 5-6 times a day in different time periods. They count each all of the time periods listener ship and total them up to get the market share. If one were to look at each individual time slot it is on then one can see that the show is weak.

NPR viewers like their commentators to be intellectuals, not entertainers. Which is why they use someone like Krauthammer or the late Tony Blankley to represent the conservative viewpoint, not Rush.

A more accurate name for the program would be "All Left leaning things considered."

I have been listening to the program for decades, while not absolute...the slant is undeniable.

Investors flee Carbonite after Limbaugh announcement

On Saturday, Carbonite CEO David Friend released a statement on his company’s website declaring that Carbonite had decided to “withdraw” advertising from Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in the wake of his controversial remarks involving Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because it will “ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse”:

Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.

However, it hasn’t done much to contribute to his company’s stock price. Since the market opened on Monday through its close today, Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points. It was also one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ on Tuesday.

So, who at Carbonite pizzed off Rushbo in Aug 2011 when the stock fell from 17.14 to 15.54 (-9.3% on 8/17) and then further to 13.62 ( -12.4% on 8/18)? That's a 20.5% drop in 48 hours. Surely, they must have pizzed off Rushbo for that to happen.

rush isn't pissed @ carbonite now. noone including rush gives a sh!t what carbonite thinks of rush's comments. rush is still doing his show. he is still getting fat paychecks. the commercial spots have been filled. the left still hates him....maybe carbonite should ask rush if they can buy back in & test the theory.
