Hi Kathyrn..I heard there was an older thread to a game that we can resurrect. Changing one letter.

If you have time would love to join it!!!

Thanks for all your good work on VJ

Sylvia!!!

Here you go - It's called "Let's Play Scrabble" - I've just started a new game sequence here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/370815-lets-play-scrabble-xl/

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I think I started a game thread like this last year but your title is better. star_smile.gif

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/250048-new-game-sentence-construction/page__st__210

New Game: Funky Five Words

The first person starting the game places five letters. The next player makes up a sentence using each letter as the start of each word, and then posts five new letters. The next player then makes up a sentence using those 5 letters and then posts 5 more, etc.

example.

Player One:

I L P G G

Player Two:

I love playing great games

SWBCS

Player Three:

Sea Worthy Boats Can Sail

NIFGE

Player Four:

Not Into Fondling Gorilla's Eggs...

IECIC

etc.

And please everyone- try and resist temptation at least a little and keep things 'clean'. This is supposed to be a family friendly website!

How Much Junk Mail do You Have Today Game:

Post in as crazy a way as possible how much junk mail you have today.

You must empty your junk mail daily, or subtract your previous amount from your current amount.

If you get the number 42, you really should qualify for a meaning of life favour from your spouse. (wink wink)

This is sure to be an instant classic.

This exciting and intense new game is called "Post a historical date!"

Here is a link: http://www.visajourn...ost__p__5481838

Here is an example on how to play:

September 13, 1993

Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin shakes hands with PLO chairman Yasser Arafat at the White House after signing the Oslo Accords granting limited Palestinian autonomy.

Please remember that the games posted here are meant to be enjoyed by a lot of different individuals, and not played like 'solitaire' where every move is made by one person. As tempting as it is to post responses to your own posts, please allow others the opportunity to play as well, even if it means taking a break from a game thread to allow others time to post. We appreciate that playing games is a great way to spend time while waiting for the interminable immigration wheels to turn, but please - don't hog the threads - share the games with other players. It really is a lot more fun when a number of people participate in a game - and often a lot more challenging.

am I allowed to ask a question about a game in a game thread or am I supposed to ask it here?

It is probably best to ask it here as there may be discussion that results and that might disrupt the actual game thread

Favorite quotes game.

Easy enough game.

Post your favorite quotes by historical figures, comedians, politicians, authors etc....

Please remember to cite the quote.

Example:

"We could have saved the Earth but we were too damned cheap."

Kurt Vonnegut

"I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

If you_____ you might be a______

Here are the rules.

1. Previous poster sets the condition. For example:
If you put Chocolate on your french fries....

2. Current poster comes up with suspect, and sets a condition of his/her own. For example:
If you put chocolate on your french fries....

You might be a chocoholic.

If you wear plaid everywhere you go....

3. Next poster comes up with, "You might be a Scotman," and so on.

Let's Limerick!

Hopefully there are people out there who love a good limerick. Here's your task...I'll start the thread with a limerick. The next person to post must take one of the rhyming words from my limerick and use it in their own. The word you choose can be placed anywhere within the poem (see KNOW below).

For example:

First Limerick

There once was a girl named Flo,

She fell for a guy we'll name Joe.

They tried for a Visa,

Then had little Lisa.

And that is their story I know.

Followed by...

We know that the show is just grand.

It's the best we have in this land.

The people are funny

My day becomes sunny.

When finished, I'll give them a hand.
