On January 23, 2012, I appeared for my biometrics appointment. The lady who did the fingerprint told me that it takes about 4-5 weeks to receive an interview appointment letter. It has been more than a month now since I did my fingerprint and I have received a yellow paper checklist but I have not received my interview appointment letter. I have seen a lot of people that already got their interview and are scheduled for Oath taking. Also, As far as I know, I do not have any criminal records that might prolong this stage. I called USCIS many times but they are not helpful in terms of why and when. They only tell me information that is reflected on the case status updates.

Has anyone had this problem? Please tell me your thoughts on this. Thanks.

All depends on when the local office schedules the interviews and oaths. USCIS does not have control over how busy / backed up / slow the interviewing office is.

My husband filed in January, did his biometrics in February, and received his yellow checklist in March, but did not get his interview until July. That was in Atlanta last year.
