I filled in September 2010 for my fiancee and we were approved last month Feb. 9th. I received my approval letter Feb 14th. Now my fiancee went to Lagos Embassy to request interview date only to be told they have not received the approval letter from America. So I call the customer service here in the states and they said it has been mailed out. This is strange. Has anyone experience this before in Lagos Embassy or any US embassy?

your fiance went to the lagos consulate or do you mean emailed them? If NVC had told you that it has been shipped to Lagos, then I suggest you wait 2wks or so and email lagos consulate requesting interview. With you Feb. 14 date, i think you should go ahead and email the consulate. Have your fiance email them and reference your LGS number in the subject line and state K-1 interview request. Make sure the email is to LagosIV department. Ill guess you would get a respond btw 3-5 days. Read the lagos/Nigeria embassy information here for further details.

Ya'll are really just wasting time going down there cos appointments are mailed not given in person, and they will contact her when they receive it. It tkes time fter they receive it cos they receive more thn just one. They have to go through all of them and contact each person by email or postal mail.

My fiancee actually email the embassy on feb. 29th with the approval information and the embassy replied saying they have not received the approval from USA.

Have you gotten a letter from The National Visa Center with your receipt number not the letter from USCIS saying it has been approved? if you have received a letter from the NVC, then your Fiancee should send them an email with that receipt number requesting for an interview date. you can also contact NVC to see if your paperwork has been sent to the consulate in Lagos.

Hello. The NVC gives out the interview dates not the Consulate. Call NVC and confirm that they have the email addresses current and correct for you and your husband. You can also call every other day to see when a date is available. It took three weeks to get an interview date for us. Just keep checking and praying for endurance.. the date is on it's way...

Favored, hello.

Please, what do you mean by DOS? Isn't Lagos the one to assign the interview date? And how long did it take to get your interview date after NVC sent your case to Lagos?
