If you applied for EAD and AP, did you receive a JOINT EAD/AP card or separate documents?

Hi there!

So I finally got e-notification for approval of my EAD and AP applications. :)

Yesterday I got an email saying that the USPS has picked up my EAD document from the USCIS and that I should receive it within 7 days. There was no mention of my AP document. My question is: Will the EAD card be a dual purpose EAD and AP card?

I read a press release from Feb. 2011 saying that the USCIS has started issuing joint EAD/AP cards in some cases, but I'm not sure how common that is.

The reason I'm curious is because my husband and I would very much like to plan our honeymoon (for some time in April) and are anxiously awaiting my AP documentation!

Yes it will be a joint card. It will be an employment authorization card with a line at the bottom which says "serves as I-512 advance parole".

They have all been joint cards for a while now (can't remember when USCIS switched to a joint card)

Thanks Lainie B for the quick response! And after I receive the EAD/AP card and I want to travel out of the country, all I do is take the card with me, and I'm good to go?

I believe so, though I haven't tried it myself yet. I have heard of some people having issues at check-in when re-entering, and also at the POE. If I were you I would also take some print-outs from the USCIS website on the new joint card. Just a suggestion. Perhaps others who have used the new joint card to re-enter can help.

I would check the card very carefully there have actually been some people who were not issued the combo card recently.
