Just schedule an appointment at your local office/Info Pass, your AP might be approved that day.

Then you need to be on top of this daily -- I would focus on the InfoPass.

Do you have NOA for the expedite?

What's the date of your infopass?

When did you file for AOS?

Have you received your NOA for AOS ?

I have not scheduled for infopass yet. AOS was received last January 31, 2012. Yes I have received NOA for AOS and have done my biometrics and have also received the notice about my case being transferred and currently processed by CSC.

I have only received an email regarding the request for expedited processing although the receipt number quoted was incorrect. They told me to fax a documentation explaining my situation which I did on the same day I received the email. Should the notice for the expedited process come in the mail?

But do you have a NOA for the I-131 you filed?

You have less than 30 days, you should work the InfoPass option -- they can approve you on the spot.

Yes I have received the NOA for AP. Do you think I should wait within the week and see if the document I faxed will suffice? Should that be approved, do you have any idea how long till I receive the AP travel document?

Or take no chances and just go for Infopass? I'm afraid they might not like that I am being redundant in this request and cancel everything instead.

NO...if you have the NOA for the AP, call your local USCIS office and schedule an appointment. The problem with waiting -- you really do not have the time to waste. You're inside of 30 days of your children's visas expiring.

I personally would work the InfoPass option, since that can be approved on the spot.

Ok I will do that now. Do I select the following?

1. You need Service on a case that has already been filed

2. Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

Do I have to go to the appointment with my husband?

Select #1.

You don't "have" to go with your husband -- AP is for your benefit.

Done deal. I am going tomorrow. Wish me luck! :-D

Good deal, you really need to get rolling and get that AP approved. You still need to time to allow for the purchase of your ticket without having to sell your house to afford it on short notice.

Good luck tomorrow!

Excellent! You need emergency , emergency Advanced Parole.

Don't leave the USCIS office until you get it.

Keep asking for supervisors when you get brain dead humans at the USCIS local office.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

First thing foremost. I went yesterday by bus and got there pretty early. I ate the snacks that I brought and got prepared to enter the building. The security officer asked me what was I there for and I said in response, 'I have an appointment'. And the polite security officer asked me 'Are you sure'? I said 'Yes' and pointed to the date on my Infopass print out. The security said that I do not have an appointment on that day because they were closed...and because it was the 7th and not the 8th! Geez! I smiled and thank the officer anyway. LoL

So I went and made another trip today to the Houston Office. I saw the same officer and he smiled. He greeted me and asked me to turn off my cellphone. Placed my bag on the machine for inspection and went through the scanner. I was lost for a moment as I did not know where to proceed but eventually found people across from where I was standing falling in line to register. I went and followed the same. Then it was my turn and told the lady what I was there for. She said that It was not the place to do it and I told her that I already filed I-131 and handed her the NOA. She said a couple of things but the only thing I heard was, they'll see what they can do. I took the small paper with my number and found a seat on the second row. The place was not really crowded. There were lots of empty seats. Then finally my number was called at window 3. This nice lady asked me what was I there for and I explained my case. She then said, they cannot do anything but call to request for an expedited process. At this time, I just did not say anything anymore and then she started calling someone. She requested the person on the other line to expedite my case and gave the reason why. All I could do was wait and hope. When she was done, she told me that she made the request and that the person will email her in response to the request. She wrote my name and A# on a piece of paper and asked me to write my number down. She said as soon as she gets an email from the person that she would give me a call. She returned my paper and I thanked her and went on my way home.

In short I was not able to get an emergency advance parole today as I was hoping for. I have done all that I could do in my power, I will let God take care of the rest. With the request to expedite the process I still hope to receive the Advance Parole travel document in the mail very, very soon. My days are numbered and the only thing left that I could do is wait and pray for a miracle.
