That is all natural, I guarantee there is not a single person who has had an AOS interview that didn't feel similar emotions, but I bet most will tell you that the emotion will pass as the interview gets underway and it will feel completely unwarranted once it is all over and you see just how anti-climatic the whole process is :)

Now, waiting for the denial/acceptance email is a different story  That can be a nerve-wracking few hours or in my case, a few days

thank you so much for your support, I noticed before you being supportive for everybody, I really wish you all the best in your life

queestion! should i highlight the bills and stuff where my name shows up???

You can if you want.

I highlighted the details in the evidence that I filed with the original I-130/AOS package, but for my interview I did not. So in my experience it doesn't matter, but if it makes you feel better about the situation, then just do it :)

I know the feeling, I had a month between submitting my RFE response and getting my interview date without hearing anything in-between, it was certainly disheartening but know that somebody IS working on your case and each day is another step closer.

The bureaucracy of the USCIS makes dealing with the SSA and the DMV seem like a pleasant afternoon in the park. In about three years from now, when I naturalize, I will finally be rid of this agency, but until then, it will just be a pain in the rear that asks me for more money and to submit useless forms

>each day is another step closer

I like the phrase! Thank you so muchbiggrin.gif I see you have been all through.

Yes. Dealing with them is really pain in the butt. They almost always go against my expectation. (Almost always negative way lol)

Are you planing to naturalize? I have not decided what I am going to do after this GC stuff is done.

As I approach my interview date I am making a conscious decision not to stress out or worry about it.

I lived in fear for a long time and frankly I am through with that. I am not going to be pushed around or intimidated by USCIS or anyone else. What I have dealt with in the past two years I would not wish on anyone, and while it has permanently scarred me I do not want to dwell or wallow in it.

My wife was an amazing person who for some reason saw something in me that I couldn't see and probably was not there to begin with. Lightning doesn't strike twice, and I don't delude myself that I will find someone as kind, warm and generous as she was, that is willing to put up with me.

Are you planing to naturalize? I have not decided what I am going to do after this GC stuff is done.

Yes. I plan to have my I-751 ready to file the first day that I am eligible and I plan to file the N-400 in the same manner also.

I want the "freedom" to enter and exit the US as I wish and the only way to that is to be a citizen, I also don't want to pay $680 every 10 years just for the sake of not becoming a USC. Personally, I do not see any disadvantaged to naturalizing and since I have already paid over $2K (Medical, I-130/AOS & ROC) I would rather just be done with this process completely and then I can live freely in Europe and the US. For me, it just makes sense.

I guess UK allows you to have dual citizenship. Is that right?

My country does not offer that, so that is one of the reasons why I have not decided what I am not gonna do after this process.

I totally agree with your opinion if my country also lets me have that.

That is correct, the UK permits duel citizenship and the option to once again live and work in the rest of Europe is appealing to my wife and myself-- not to mention my employer has expressed interest in this scenario also since I could work easily without restrictions-- however Colorado is my home and I would need a serious re-location package to even consider moving, but the option to move freely is nice to have.

Yes. That is a really nice option. I would love to have dual citizenship if I could.

Thanks for sharing your opinion with me.

By the way, my husband and I really like Colorado. It is a nice place to livebiggrin.gif We are hoping to live there in the future.

It is really humid and hot here in summer, and we do not like it so much lol

We loved how we felt in Colorado when we had a trip 2 years ago. It was dry and cooler.

I can relate, when I first came out here on VWP (before I decided to study here), I had all of these intentions to visit as much as the US as I could-- I can count on one hand how many States I have visited in the 6 years I have been here. The mountains are my home and I won't leave-- for long.

Timeline

That is correct, the UK permits duel citizenship and the option to once again live and work in the rest of Europe is appealing to my wife and myself-- not to mention my employer has expressed interest in this scenario also since I could work easily without restrictions-- however Colorado is my home and I would need a serious re-location package to even consider moving, but the option to move freely is nice to have.

My country does not allow dual citizenship but has something called Overseas Citizenship which lets you live and work there, but then takes away your voting rights. I am kind of torn, because I would not want to live in a country if I cannot participate in its democratic process, so giving up voting rights for my home country is not something I am ready to do as yet. So, yes, naturalization is something I am thinking about but have three years (minus three months) to come to a clear-eyed decision. Hoping I will catch up with all you guys once again there, when the window opens.
