Avi30, I agree with myafi1985-- I have heard more of bad experiences than good with regards to trying to reschedule interviews and considering how long it has taken you to finally receive an interview date in NYC, I would be very hesitant about another long wait for a 2nd interview date in a very backlogged city. If it were me then I wouldn't think for a moment to cancel 1-2 days of my vacation just to put this process behind me and move on.

Also, good luck to EvoPc & Alejandra who have interviews tomorrow & Thursday!

Would you suggest I call the Service center and tell them I plan to attend as usual? I mean they would still notify the local office about the re-scheduling.

Dnt forget for hubby to wear his wedding ring mines did forget so he had no ring and home was 5 1/2 hrs away luckily IO paid little to no attention to him whatsoever. :-)

I would wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing, I saw people wearing jeans and a regular t-shirt and others wearing a full suit and tie-- I just went the smart-casual route with khakis & a sweater.

Regarding cell phones, I took mine into the building and was using it right up until I was called for the interview and then I put it on silent and it wasn't an issue.

Little update, just received the GC in production email, hopefully it will arrive sometime next week.

Just a quick look at your local field office-- their processing times are currently 4 months to complete the I-485, so I would perhaps give them a call if you haven't heard anything by the end of the first week in July. However I have a feeling you will hear something before then!

That is all natural, I guarantee there is not a single person who has had an AOS interview that didn't feel similar emotions, but I bet most will tell you that the emotion will pass as the interview gets underway and it will feel completely unwarranted once it is all over and you see just how anti-climatic the whole process is

Now, waiting for the denial/acceptance email is a different story That can be a nerve-wracking few hours or in my case, a few days

I know the feeling, I had a month between submitting my RFE response and getting my interview date without hearing anything in-between, it was certainly disheartening but know that somebody IS working on your case and each day is another step closer.

The bureaucracy of the USCIS makes dealing with the SSA and the DMV seem like a pleasant afternoon in the park. In about three years from now, when I naturalize, I will finally be rid of this agency, but until then, it will just be a pain in the rear that asks me for more money and to submit useless forms
