OK Everyone...

I got my Interview scheduled !!! However, I am in the situation I hoped to avoid. It is falling on the 24th. Me and my Wife booked our Honeymoon from 7/16 - 7/24 so we can't make it to the Interview. I called today to try and re-schedule (which is not recommended). I spoke with USCIS officer who was very nice and tried to understand my situation. He said he opened a note and will notify the New York Office and it is up to them if they are willing to re-schedule. I started to write down the confirmation # but accidentally hanged the call. . I will call tomorrow morning to check that everything was recorded and to see my options. Any thoughts are welcome..

Again, I am happy and not so happy on the same time. This is our Honeymoon ....

Don't trust the call center, book info pass and go and talk to them, may be they will ask you to come the next day. when you request anything after the case is transferred to the local office, most likely it will take them a long time before they look into the notice from the contact center. you would receive a denial in such a case, so GET info pass.

Congrats all.

Thanks, Mike. You are in my prayers and will remain there.

Congratskicking.gif

Your case is an ideal onestar_smile.gif Great!

Thanks, nene!

just got update that my card is mailed out

Congratulations!

Congrats MrsNotBonJovi!!

I just received my harcopy I-130 approval and Welcome letter in the mail today, still no card is processing email though-- in my case it seems to be taking a little longer than the EAD from approval to arriving. Hopefully by late this week or early next I should have mine in had too.

I know that I will be sending off Form I-751 within a few days of that 90 day window being open, so perhaps I will see some familiar faces around that thread also.

You will get it very soon, Chris. Looks like the whole process has been a very good test of character for you, honing your patience. :bonk: Good luck, I may not be on the ROC thread but I will sure look out for you and the others.

  congrats MrsNotBonJovi!!!

my biometrics picture wasnt all the grand either :\

but thats ok

MikeX hang in there buddy (F) I cant imagine your frustration but do hope u get a answer soon .. keep ur head up :)

I got notification that my card is in production :star:

made today a sweet ending to a very good day (finally got to do my drivers written exam and passed)

good luck to all the interviewers!!!

May the rest of ur process be smooth and quick (L)

Thanks, happylove, and congratulations to you too!

I am trying to make an appointment to the New York local office. However, I keep getting messages that there are no appointments available for this office. What should I do ??

call the call center and request to change the appointment , and ask them how you can make sure that the local office confirmed the request, also keep trying to find a spot on the info pass system. btw,I would really advice you if you can come from the honeymoon one day earlier to do the interview, even if you need to pay some amount of money to change your reservation.

also , it just came to my mind, if you can book an info pass with another local office, and try to explain your situation they could contact your local office and inform them.

I am seriously thinking to do this. I am keep reading about bad experiences from people who were facing my situation. I rather miss one day from this vacation and save myself the headache

Trust me it's the best thing to do, especially that you reside in NY, and New York filed office is very known by its backlog, so even if you managed to re-schedule the interview, maybe you wait 2-3 or even more to get a new appointment. if I were you, I would lose some money better than waiting all that time.

Avi30, I agree with myafi1985-- I have heard more of bad experiences than good with regards to trying to reschedule interviews and considering how long it has taken you to finally receive an interview date in NYC, I would be very hesitant about another long wait for a 2nd interview date in a very backlogged city. If it were me then I wouldn't think for a moment to cancel 1-2 days of my vacation just to put this process behind me and move on.

Also, good luck to EvoPc & Alejandra who have interviews tomorrow & Thursday!

Good luck Avi. If my interview notice comes this week, it will probably be right in the middle of our planned 2 week trip. At this point I would welcome coming home one day early. I'm scared of the interview falling right in the middle, and we'll have to cancel the whole trip.

5/2011 Met my wife, she was on a J1

2/25/2012 Married

3/07/2012 Sent I-130,I-485,I-765,I-131 to Chicago lockbox

2 more days to go... feeling kinda stressed out!

been there done that haha! I think it's a natural feeling but don't worry too much, I am sure you'll be approved. Dont forget to put all things together as early as now and make sure you have all you need. Clip all proofs together and all originals so it's easy to give it to the IO. Look him in the eye when you talk to him and make sure you have you and your spouse's picture in your wallet, my IO seemed satisfied when he saw our picture in my wallet.

Goodluck and God Bless!
