Mine is going to be in Detroit, MI and it will be in afternoon, so we will see if the guide from 2008 is still accurate :)

I have a quick question, my sponsor sent 3 years of tax return, pay stubs, W2s, letters of current and future employment, birth certificate, all the paperwork completed. Do I really need all of this with me again? It just seems like we haven't gotten any RFE, and assembling all of this again seems like a lot for a busy person. Not the he won't do it. What if we just take copies of tax returns? I mean, you can obviously see that he works at the same place and is a stable man.

Here is a list of what we are taking:

- Marriage Certificate

- Birth Certificates

- Both Passports

- I-94 and I-20

- Both Driver license and my SS card

- Apartment lease

- Car title + car insurance

- Our tax returns + Sponsor's

- Joint Bank Statemnet

- 14 photograph of main events and family gatherings

- Airplane tickets and movie tickets.

Does that seem like a decent package? Thanks for the feedback.

3/23/2012 (Day 0) - I-130, I-485 and I-765 sent
4/02/2012 (Day 11) - Hard Copy of NOA1 in the mail of I-130, I-485 and I-765
4/04/2012 (Day 13) - Received a letter for biometrics appointment for 4/20/2012.
4/20/2012 (Day 29) - Biometrics done
5/03/2012 (Day 42) - Status online changed to interview, scheduled for June 11
5/16/2012 (Day 55) - EAD Card Production, online status update
5/24/2012 (Day 63) - EAD Card in the mail
6/11/2012 (Day 83) - Interview, approved on the spot

05/19/2014 (Day 0) - Mailed I-751

05/27/2014 (Day 8) - Received NOA1

Fortunately, my wife is more organized than I am. She put this together very neatly. She did it in three folders. One folder had relevant information I thought the IO wanted, based on various conversations here: photocopies of pictures, mail to our address, joint accounts, recent year tax information (because most recent year wasn't filed as of original submission). Then we had a second folder repeating the i-485 and i-130 stuff, but he invariably said he didn't need that stuff because he already had it. And a third folder was "I don't think we'll need this stuff but just in case". He did keep the photocopies of pictures and the tax stuff and the joint account stuff. We included that in our original submissions but he didn't seem to have them or who knows what he was up to. He was a tricky fellow.

Hi everyone. Need your advise but first of all let me congratulate those who had passed their interview and had gotten their gc. For those who are still waiting, just hang in there and rest assured that you are all included in my prayers.

Now my question,

My passport is still under my maiden name as well as my ssn. MY EAD is under my married name and all the aos form were filed using my married name. I renewed my passport last month and asked them to change it to my married name but the consul said they cannot because divorce (with my ex husband) is not honored in my country. They suggested to me to ask the IO at the interview if he could change my paper (GC if appoved :innocent: ) back to my maiden name so as to avoid the hassle if ever I travel overseas. They also said to me to wait until naturalization, which will be years from now! to change to my married name because then my country will have nothing to do with me if I'm USC. Now, do you think that's possible? I do not want to ask the IO and cause delay but I'm also scared that I might have a problem to travel abroad due to passport and not having the same last name. Thank you once again for you input :)

PS: My husband said it's ok with him if that will make things easy (travel wise) as long as our future children are all under his name :bonk:

God Bless all (F)

Well the status on her I-130 changed to approved, and I figured maybe now I'll finally start believing it. But it seems that I'm still going to be paranoid until the green card arrives. Curious, the effects this process has on us!

12/24/2010 I proposed. She accepted and stayed.

02/25/2011 Married!

03/19/2012 FINALLY submitted the AOS paperwork: I-130, I-485, I-765, etc.

03/23/2012 Received notification that USCIS has received everything.

03/26/2012 Biometrics Appointment Notice: April 23, 2012.

04/02/2012 NOA's received. Now we wait...

04/23/2012 Biometrics completed.

05/18/2012 EAD card mailed but not yet received.

06/06/2012 Rough interview but we think we're approved! Website says i485 status "Card Production".

06/12/2012 We received the "Welcome the United States" letters! Website says Green Card was mailed.

LIMBO: Green card lost in mail. Facing the possibility of paying hundreds in fees and basically repeating the entire process.

All good now! USPS lost it, then found it.

04/24/14 Back to VJ to get help with I-751, Removal of Conditions.

05/31/14 Mailed I-751 finally, with less than a week to deadline!

06/02/14 NOA1 (that was fast!)

07/01/14 Biometrics

7/25/14 Approved for Removal of Conditions
