Well ours has left my wife thinking we're going to be rejected. We presented a ton of documentation but got off to a bad start because of my drivers license. I presented my drivers license, which has my previous address, and an interim license paper showing our current address. I had never updated the mailing address and only did so this week.

He started questioning me about my old address which I just use to pick up mail now, and this all made me really nervous, so I started flubbing and kept me very nervous throughout the interview. My wife is now upset and has been lecturing me about it, and she's convinced we'll get a rejection notice. The officer went on to check our passports and question us about visits to each other. He took a big stack of photos, and joint account documents, our leases, etc.

What will happen if we were rejected? Is the USCIS website typically updated with status very quickly after the interview? I guess I'll research rejection just in case.

12/24/2010 I proposed. She accepted and stayed.

02/25/2011 Married!

03/19/2012 FINALLY submitted the AOS paperwork: I-130, I-485, I-765, etc.

04/02/2012 NOA's received. Now we wait...

04/23/2012 Biometrics completed.

05/18/2012 EAD card mailed but not yet received.

06/06/2012 Rough interview but we think we're approved! Website says i485 status "Card Production".

06/12/2012 We received the "Welcome the United States" letters! Website says Green Card was mailed.

LIMBO: Green card lost in mail. Facing the possibility of paying hundreds in fees and basically repeating the entire process.

All good now! USPS lost it, then found it.

04/24/14 Back to VJ to get help with I-751, Removal of Conditions.

05/31/14 Mailed I-751 finally, with less than a week to deadline!

You will get a second interview! Which where they split both of you guys up and question you, and actually it's the chance to fix your license

Sorry to hear your experience but the IO are very strick

Sorry to hear about your interview, however I am sure you will get a positive result soon. We hear a lot about interviews gone wrong and to be honest, the vast majority end with an approval :)

As for your questions, generally speaking if AOS is denied you are given a chance to file a MTA/MTR (Form I-290B). I really do not know the ins and outs of appeals, motions & removal proceedings, but if it does come to that-- then an AILA approved attorney is going to be well worth having a consultation with-- but I doubt it will get that far, people have bad interviews and generally find that they are approved. So I wouldn't worry.

Besides, most people just get a simple RFE after their interview and a 2nd interview if needed.

:)

Yaay! It means you have been approved. Your I-130 status not changing means nothing, if your I-130 had not gotten through, you would never have gotten to the interview stage. Maybe they just did not update your I-130 status.

Good to know you are going green. Now, go get some relief from all that stress!

Congrats!!

I have been worried about the same issue, my DL still has the old address and I moved in with my husband almost 2 years.

Oh my god, can I really believe it's true? My wife was convinced I had blown that.

Linda, the DMV will give you a piece of paper that will say "interim Drivers License" with the new address, and you're supposed to show that along with your current ID (and they will punch a whole in the old ID by the way). Presenting this set off a round of questioning from the officer about my old address, and I was very nervous about this. It's a long story, that old address. It's tricky because among other things I still use that as an office mailing address. So I started tripping over my words and drawing blanks the entire interview, but I think the preponderance of evidence dwarfed all that. I think he was mainly trying to catch me revealing I still lived there or something. And he wrote a lot of red ink on my applications, and man we were nervous.

Maybe we can go celebrate now, yeah?

When we went to the interview and asked questions he like checked off things in my paperwork with red ink

So red ink isn't all that bad

Hi!!! i READ a post on here and there is someone saying that if you have your appointment early morning is a GOOD SIGN, BUT if you have the appointment in the afternoon is because they saw something weird in your file and it can take longer....

Thanks all. I'm trying to convince myself we made it, yet I am checking the card production status obsessively. :P

MikeX: Any news? What does your status say on the USCIS website?

12/24/2010 I proposed. She accepted and stayed.

02/25/2011 Married!

03/19/2012 FINALLY submitted the AOS paperwork: I-130, I-485, I-765, etc.

03/23/2012 Received notification that USCIS has received everything.

03/26/2012 Biometrics Appointment Notice: April 23, 2012.

06/02/14 NOA1 (that was fast!)

07/01/14 Biometrics

7/25/14 Approved for Removal of Conditions
