Update! Today I got my SSN and I have a question... it says VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION...so.. It means that the SSN is just to work?? or it means that is valid to work if i have my ead too, but i can open bank account or get my driving license?

Please anyone can help me with this doubt?

you can use it whatever job u want or anywhere , but they write that coz you don't have A USC or Permanent Status, when u receive your GC , you can go to the SS office and they will request a new card which doesn't have this statement

day 86-- 07/05/2012-- Received my GC in the mail.

wow... kind've exciting everyone is getting their cards!!!! I am starting to feel anxious, haven't heard anything for quite some time now :s and now the long weekend!!!! Ugh..... Happy long weekend to everyone!

I've seen lots of people saying they got their driver's license once they got their SSN/EAD.

Hi. I have a question. I went to DMV this morning (Saturday) with my EAD and SSN but they told me that they cannot give me a license yet because the USCIS system says more info needed. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks!!!

I have never heard of that...what city/state is that? You can search your state's DMV online and look for the requirements. Or you can hold up till your interview date/approval..

That is common, it just means the SS office has not yet received the info required from the USCIS system. Give it a couple of days or more and you should be able to do it. Nothing to worry about.

Arrived on F1 visa on 25 Dec 2008. Graduated June 2011. Started OPT Sep 2011.

AOS applied March 21, 2012. GC approved June 11, 2012 & received June 18, 2012.

Exactly three months from start to finish,no RFEs.

-i have both our birth certificates originals and translated notorized copies

-2 certified copies of the marriage license with enveloped stamped from the courthouse

-apartment lease where i signed it

-joint bank statements

-scrapbook from when we started dating

-photobook from shutterfly with the professional wedding pictures of our big wedding

-pictures of courthouse wedding

-receipts of when we bought furniture

-SSN and envelope address to my current address

- both our passports

-USC naturalization certificate

-i-94

-Copies i made of all immigrations forms i sent

im sure i have more stuff laying around my office but id apreciate any other ideas as to what i can bring..

appt is june 5th so i have time to print out some things..

-Wedding cards that were sent to us.

-Utility bills (gas, electric, cell phone, cable & water)

-Both SSN# (wife's and mine) with the same surname.

-USC Colorado DL & my CO State ID showing married names and joint address.

-Misc photos of us with members of the family at events such as Christmas, weddings, birthdays, vacations & even on national holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day. Nothing major, probably like 10-15 pics.

It seems like you have everything in order, good luck in your interview-- mine is the following Tuesday, one week after yours.
