okay lets say my maiden name is jones and married is johnson

so my EAD i recieved is under jones

but my interview letter is under johnson

i dnt have any id with my married name johnson so im going to bring my certified copy as well as original marriage certificate to interview.. that shouldnt be a problem right?? i really dont care if the GC comes under my maiden or married name but i just dnt want USCIS to be all like no!! u dnt have proper id or be on my case as to why the two are different..should i just let this whole thing be and just bring all the necesary paperwork?

little confused and i really dnt wanna call as to they are confusing and not very helpful at times..

What about the name in your Social Security? I dont have any ID's yet as I am still waiting for my EAD to get an ID. But technically, once you apply for a state ID using your Johnson married name, then that would be your legal name. So I think it is much better to have all your identification all in one name. If it happen that you will receive your GC first under Jones before applying for a state ID, you might just wanna follow what its in your GC as your legal name in your state ID.

But bring all the documents you have and tell the officer by the time of your interview that you want your name the way you want it - they might let you.

March 19th - received NOA

April 13th - Biometrics

May 03rd - notified of interview (06/13/2012)

May 06th - received interview letter in mail

May 11th - received notification of EAD card in production

May 19th - EAD in hand

May 23rd - Applied for SSC

May 29th - Received social security card in mail (card in hand)

June 13th - Interview (approved on the spot)

June 13th - got notification of approval

June 18th - Card in production (also received welcome letter in mail)

June 21st - Green Card in hand

End of this journey....

Good luck to everyone that has their interviews coming up and to those that are getting their EAD's. It's been one hell of a journey so far, but with the help, chats, words of encouragement that some of us come here to get every single day... it's made the journey a lot funner and calmer. Thank you guys!

3/21/2012 (Day 0) - I-130, I-485 and I-765 sent.

3/23/2012 (Day 1) - Delivered to USCIS.

3/27/2012 (Day 5) - E-Notification that paperwork received.

3/28/2012 (Day 6) - One check for $1,490 cashed & cleared for I-130 and I-485.

4/02/2012 (Day 11) - NOA hard copies received (x3), case status available online & bio appt. also received, dated 04/12 @ 8:00 AM.

4/10/2012 (Day 19) - Case status online says changed to RFE received.

4/12/2012 (Day 21) - Successful biometric done.

5/11/2012 (Day 50) - Complete RFE (I-864) received. Case status online changed to RFE received.

5/16/2012 (Day 55) - Online case status says: Card/ Document Production.

5/21/2012 (Day 60) - Online case status says: Card picked up by USPS.

5/24/2012 (Day 63) - EAD card in hand.

6/12/2012 (Day 82) - Testing and Interview.

7/12/2012 (Day 112) - Interview date!

7/12/2012 (Day 112) - Approved.
