The worst thing that will happen is that that you will get an RFE at your interview which will give you more time to get the document and translation and that is even if it comes to that.

I certainly wouldn't worry, just attend the interview and if they ask you for it just explain that he doesn't have one-- perhaps if he has an old Brazilian passport you could offer that instead.

Like I said, I wouldn't worry about-- do what you can to try and obtain it before the interview and document the steps that you have taken and if asked, simply explain.

Would this work? I am so worried there will be a RFE during the interview. :blink:

The Journey

Arrived on F1 visa on 25 Dec 2008. Graduated June 2011. Started OPT Sep 2011.

AOS applied March 21, 2012. GC approved June 11, 2012 & received June 18, 2012.

Exactly three months from start to finish,no RFEs.

AOS Timeline:

Day 01,March 21, 2012: Concurrent filing of I-130/AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago Lockbox

Day 02,March 22, 2012: Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox

Day 04,March 24, 2012: USCIS Acceptance Confirmation received through e-mail

Day 07,March 27, 2012: Checks cashed.

Day 13,April 02, 2012 : NOAs received for I-130,I-485,EAD/AP & Biometrics

Day 36,April 25, 2012 : Biometrics Completed at Elizabeth, NJ.

Day 45,May 04, 2012 : E-mail notification for interview received for June 11

Day 46,May 05, 2012 : Received hard copy of interview notice

Day 56,May 16, 2012 : EAD/AP Production e-mail

Day 64,May 24, 2012 : EAD/AP Card in hand

Day 83,June 11,2012 : Interview. Approved same day. Card production email.

Day 84,June 12,2012 : E-mail Notification registering PR status.

Day 87,June 15,2012 : USPS picks up GC from USCIS.

Day 88,June 16,2012 : Received two hard copy mails, approving I-130 & I-485

Day 90,June 18,2012 : 10-year GC in hand. End of GC journey, for now.

What gets me is why should it matter for a USC to have BC unless the USC was born in US. but my hubby is natuarlized citizen so he has his cert and passport shouldnt that be enough? i mean he also has military id and drivers liscense all to verify his identity..still freaking out though.. i cant wait for this whole process to be over..only thing that can make me happy right now is to get my EAD. =( still scared :( :(

No deplolyment orders..I did think of that as well of that did happen and his orders changed. Good news mother in law said she has his birth certificate yay :dance: so since its a Brazilian Birth Cert I'll just have toget it translated

Yes, you have to get certified translation of it' don't worry you will be okay, stop being nervous... Cuz if your nervous now... You'll be nervous then at interview.. An if it's not a fraud marriage their is no need to be nervous, for you both love each other and immigration officer cannot scare you

Yea happened to me and someone else they got that 2nd email. It really doesn't mean anything. You will get another email saying USPS picked up your card. Best of luck and congrats on EAD

Social Security card came in the mail today and I have an interview tomorrow! Whoot! The social only took a week! :yes:

July 2005 - met my awesome, hot, amazing love in Lousiana.
July 2006 - Married said love and moved to Canada.

I got a second email about the card production today too... looks like it's all coming together finally... most of us should be done and dusted during May... which really isn't bad as far as time is concerned... less than 90days from start to finish (assuming there is an 'on the spot' decision) is pretty good going.

Congratulations to everyone who has received EAD's, EAD emails, AP's, interview dates... we're in the final furlong of a nerve wrenching process. I hope everyone gets jobs soon and can get on with the task of enjoying our partners. I know mind has the patience of a saint... I'm so looking forward to spoiling him, just to say thanks!
