I keep seeing ppl get state IDs etc w/o an SSN? How is that even possible. Especially for Canadians. I would LOVE to get an stae ID or US driver's license it would make my life soooooo much easier

Perhaps it varies state to state. I'd start by looking at the FAQ on the DMV website of your state, and maybe call their help line. California's website does state that you can get one. For them the burden of proof of residence is proven with mail coming to the home address, or other qualifications.

Received my EAD Card approved and in production email today!

Judging by the February spread sheet, it appears that most are receiving their cards within 7-10 days

On the same page! Just applied to 6 positions this afternoon. Just hope my EAD arrives before I get an acceptance haha.

If you are on F-1, school can write you a letter saying that you are not allowed to have a SSN. With that letter you go to Secretary of State and get a state ID or Driver license. Works in Michigan.

Here in FL from what I know if you have a school visa like international student with your visa you can go get a Ssn.

Any updates?? I'm dying to see if my name change got approved..I know everything is legit not worried about that but I wanna get approved ASAP so I can continue with my case. I already did my bio so I'd only have to wait for my EAD and my interview date

Already have a job interview scheduled for tomorrow and USCIS informed yesterday that my EAD card had been picked up by USPS for delivery. Sigh.
