We did include that. Guess they need 2011 too which we'll send to them Tuesday at most.

Bet the generic RFE letter asked for "recent tax year" which you are seem sure it's 2011. If it was 2011 for sure you wont be writing "guess they need 2011".

I would suggest you check the RFE again, usually they write the specific year in pen.

But send the 2011 tax returns. & I'll always advise, send transcripts and u can be sure to a large extent, you wont get RFE on tax

I am just using my Canadian one. Technically it is only illegal to be using it if I am a resident of Nevada and as defined by their own regulations, and my interpretation of them, I am not a resident I am still a visitor until I get approval from USCIS.

Sucky thing is they don't transfer international licenses either, like some states - I will have to completely retest - even though all the driving laws are the same and I am perfectly legal to drive with my Canadian license as a visitor....stupid rules.

Sounds like Nevada is pretty relaxed. Here in Colorado you are automatically classed as a resident of Colorado for DL purposes if you have resided in the State for 90 days.

I learned that lesson a few years ago when I was pulled over for a broken tail light, luckily the Officer didn't cite me for driving without a license, he just gave me a slap on the wrist and issued me a ticket for driving without a "valid" license ($15 fine) and told me to fix the tail-light. Needless to say my next stop was to visit the DSO to write of a letter of good standing which enabled me to get a valid CO DL.

So I went to the DMV today one more time and of course they found a way to complicate my life...

They said they need more evidence and are going to request more information with the Immigration. Then I`m gonna receive a letter on the mail saying if I can or cannot get a drivers license now...

The guy even gave me the eye test and made me fill up the forms to get the drivers license...

Its like giving candy to a child and then taking it back. :(

im gonna have to wait for that letter from the DMV and this can take between 1 to 3 weeks...

More wait games....

I remember vividly going to the DMV here to get a drivers license with my I-797 receipts. The first day I went there, the man I met was very helpful and nice. He went through the NOA's cause I took both the one for I-485 & I-765 with me, he also took my passport, made photocopies and also my I-94 card. I think he got on the computer to check something. Then he came back to me, gave me the green light that it seems like I can get my license but it'll have to be the permit first. He then went ahead to have me take the computer test which I hadn't read a dang thing about, wasn't prepared for any sort of test cause I wasn't even sure at all they'd allow me get the license. I took the test and got about 76% which is just about 4 points short.

He told me that I should come back the next day to come take the written cause I can only take one test a day. He also told me to bring with me everything I brought. The next day I got there, sadly enough, he wasn't there that time... I met this one b!tchy lady there that don't seem to know anything about immigration or AOS, so she told me after looking at all the documents I brought that I still need some sort of secondary ID... Really? Where were you yesterday is what I thought. She said I should go and bring my school transcript to validate my F-1 status. "Hello... I am no more an F-1 student, I am adjusting." I just left!

So in a nutshell, if I had met the same man the next day, I most likely would have gotten my drivers license. The man was so nice and helpful that he went ahead to tell me that day that he would tell me to apply for a state ID but he don't see much need for it since I would be getting my license either ways. So that's my story with my local DMV. I'll have to wait till I get my EAD to go there again now.

Just sharing!
